5 IoT Market Three areas based on connectivity requirements: - Area 1: Requires high-volume data, real-time connectivity and mobility (e.g. connected car, self-driving car, connected CCTV, etc.) - Area 2: Requires real-time connectivity and mobility, but not highvolume data (e.g. monitoring and tracking service like vehicle tracking, electronic bracelet) - Area 3: Does not require frequent data transmission. Low volumes of data will be transferred but this area will have the most IoT devices (e.g. metering, tracking and monitoring & control service with no or low mobility requirement, like gas/water/electricity metering, street light monitoring, location-based safety management).

19 Review on HKSAR Current Digital Infrastructure Identified areas of improvements include: Lack of single data management platform to manage Smart City District related data for the whole Hong Kong Difficulties in inter communication / sharing due to different data standards and formats Need of further review or expansion of the Data Alignment Measure to address the emerging Smart City requirements Existing limitations in the data dissemination channels (i.e. GeoInfo Map, Data.gov.hk), such as real-time data dissemination, limited data scope and etc.

21 Recommendations for Hong Kong Makes spatial data available to public by providing services: OneMap: An integrated online geospatial platform that provides location-based information and services to the public. Data.gov.hk: An one-stop portal to provide a wide range of data from 70 public agencies in csv format or API mechanism. Licensing of Digitised Land Information: License for business to use the digitised land information to create products and services.

22 Recommendations for Hong Kong Businesses can apply for a license to use the digitised land information to meet their business needs / to create products and services (e.g. GIS enterprise solutions, maps, fleet management, location-based services, navigation products, mapping applications, client-server solutions, spatial analysis, business intelligence etc) The geo-data/ database/ dataset/ information available for licensing in various formats (eg: DGN, DXF, DMP, SHP) including: Street Directory: Street view in 30 features/layers with more than 20 categories of POI Address Point: Building name, house number, road, postcode, x/y coordinate etc Digitised Cadastral: Lot number, land area, ownership type etc Road Network: road name, road network line Building Outline: building name, block number, road name
