Therefore it is fitting, that our actual medavis RIS version is now indeed RIS 4.0. A coincidence? With RIS 4.0 we made a technology leap, i.e. we transferred the software to the newest technological platform. 4 Interoperability at Its Best From the connection of your modalities via DICOM to interfaces for PACS, HIS and therapy systems up to communication with web or mail servers - medavis RIS provides for smooth digital information flow in your radiology and beyond. A perfect PACS integration offers you many possibilities: RIS centric image call, image in the report, reports in PACS and PACS synchronization up to image preview and demo preparation. RIS preselects the data for you so you have to spend as little time as possible on searching. It recognizes e.g. from the current examinations if there are matching previous reports in the patient s history and automatically displays them. If you as a findings provider are interested in one of them, you need only click once and the images will be displayed on the PACS screen. The same is true for the templates and text modules. Here, the system also selects and displays only the correct ones for the context. You have several possibilities for report creation to select from. The most comfortable is surely the IN- TEGRATED SPEECH RECOGNITION. When using the medavis Speech Recognition, medavis RIS does not open a pop up window thanks to the deep integration, but you dictate the text directly into the report document. With the help of voice commands, you can list text modules, select the correct one and enter it into the report. Of course, a combination of Speech Recognition and digital dictation, i.e. working together with a typing pool, is possible. The excellent compatibility of medavis RIS and other systems thanks to HL7 and DICOM communication was confirmed during the last connect-a-thon in Spring 2017 in Venice with successful tests.

Up to now, this registration process could not be done digitally now you can seamlessly integrate it into your digital RIS workflow via interface. Filling out the patient clarification and questionnaires on anamnesis details was usually done on paper therefore creating additional organizational costs, as the patient details have to be registered digitally afterwards. The digital registration is important for two reasons: on the one hand to archive the details in the electronic patient record and on the other hand to be able to provide the patient with a copy for their files. Suppliers of digital patient clarification letter solutions design this step completely digital by letting the patient enter their details with ipads, PCs or special scanner pens. No matter which system you use, medavis RIS will automatically re- ceive the patient clarification letter as PDF so that it can be archived in the electronic patient record without media disruption. 7 APPOINTMENT NOTIFICATION MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY According to studies, patients do not show up in about 5-10 % of scheduled appointments in radiology centers. The main reason is that they simply forgot their appointment. For radiological examinations, appointments are often scheduled several weeks in advance, nurturing this tendency. Additionally, equipment idle time has an unproportionally high impact on the economic efficiency of the center due to the high operating expenditures. In this way you make it easier for the patient to make the bank transfer for your invoice. Simply read the QR code with a smartphone and all relevant data are available for mobile banking. 9 Two New RIS Functions for EVALUATION: 1. PAINTER IMPROVED COMMUNICATION THROUGH GRAPHIC HIGHLIGHTING The new RIS function PAINTER is a digital drawing tool, that is integrated into the RIS text processing and can be opened quickly by clicking on the respective button during evaluation. With the help of the PAINTER you are able to enter graphic elements into your report templates, that before consisted most of the time only of text. Referrer and patient can be pointed towards the affected areas in this way. Your report text is clearer and can be better understood. For prostate exams you can e.g. provide valuable additional information for the treating physician that is important for an optimal continued treatment of your joint patient. For this, you simply add the image via drag & drop into your report template, mark the image and select the desired editing function as in standard drawing programs. You can link your drawing with examination methods and regions and use it a template in the master data configuration. Advantage: The PAINTER opens the correct image template automatically. REPORT COMPARISON The report comparison makes it possible to compare two report versions on the screen. The differences are marked in color. If e.g. the senior physician releases the report of an assisting physician, the assisting physician can retrace the changes and learn from them.
