5 What is a Maturity Model? info@ssbbartgroup.com (800) Capability Maturity Model Purpose and Origin Method to evaluate and measuring relative: Maturity of software development processes Capabilities of an organization in addressing a specific set of business challenges Originally developed by CMU SEI Global standard used in over 101 countries 25+ years work carried by CMMI Institute Hand stacking cubic blocks in five stacks ranging in height from 1 to 5 cubes high. 14 Capability Maturity Model 5 Structured Levels Set of structured levels that describe how well behaviors, practices and processes of an organization can reliably and sustainably produce required outcomes.
