2 THE CLIENT Safestore is the UK's largest and Europe's second largest provider of self storage solutions. With its HO in the UK, where they have over 100 stores including two Business Centres and 24 stores in Europe, it serves over 43,700 customers. Safestore's strength lies in its ability to combine a deep understanding of a rapidly expanding growth market with the commercial and operational skills to provide flexible self-storage solutions for an expanding UK and European customer base.

3 BUSINESS NEED Safestore has clearly set goals for its staff training: firstly, to deliver high-quality, consistent training for its new recruits, and secondly, to provide of a set of training materials to its current employees to advance in their craft. Prior to UpsideLMS, Safestore relied heavily on classroom training delivery to address the training and developments needs of its employees, as its legacy LMS could only deliver vendor published content with no support for bespoke-made courses. Further, rolling out training pertaining to any process or service related change to its staff across 100+ stores in the UK alone led to considerable time and cost overruns. On top of that, Safestore had no guarantee that each learner had the same learning experience. With a large distributed team throughout the UK, Safestore wanted to make its training management process easier, efficient as well as cost- and time-effective for its L&D managers, and at the same time make the learning experience consistent and seamless for its staff. Safestore recognised the need for a reliable learning management platform that would ensure a consistent learner experience for its widely dispersed learners with a long-term sustainability through continuous and consistent training for developing the competences of its employees and preparing leaders of the future.

4 THE SOLUTION Reliable, Responsive, Cost- and Time-efficient, UpsideLMS ticked off all the boxes for Safestore and was chosen as the preferred platform for delivering training to its staff. UpsideLMS enabled Safestore to create customised training programmes as per its learner roles. The client could easily upload role(s), processes, (bespoke-made) elearning courses and assign to respective learners. Further, being fully multi-device responsive on the learner side, it ensured that the learning experience was consistent and seamless for all its learners. Its SaaS architecture lent itself for a easy set-up, speeding up the training roll-out process, while its cloud-hosting on Microsoft Azure gave Safestore the assurance of a reliable and scalable system that could handle high-loads with a high uptime. Also, UpsideLMS is highly scalable, which means it can be easily accommodate Safestore's demand for more users or handle high load in line with its business growth. 6 BUSINESS BENEFITS Efficient learning & training process: UpsideLMS has enabled Safestore to easily train its employees across 100+ stores in the UK. Safestore is now capable of designing and developing efficient and effective tailor-made employee training programs with respect to its business processes. This has ultimately led to a stronger focus on learning throughout the organisation as it now easier to inform all learners about various training activities and make more content available for everybody to explore, significantly increasing learning opportunities for everyone. Reduction in training cost: The centralization of training further lead to reduction in the training cost by slashing trainer's logistic cost, administrative cost etc. hence reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Time savings: Automating the training process shaved off a large amount of time involved in the manual process of conduction assessments, collecting feedback etc.

7 ENGAGEMENT MODEL License Subscription + Hosting + Support The client purchased an annual renewable license to use UpsideLMS for internal users, starting with a multi-year contract for 500 users. This covered all the elements of system deployment like hosting, implementation and installation, providing a hassle free solution for the client. The system is hosted by Upside Learning in an UK-based Microsoft Azure cloud based environment. The server is dedicated to Upside Learning and it is a shared hosting environment for the client's LMS. Upside Learning provides Level 2 support (on and phone) to designated client administrators. For Support: Support Manager 1 Dedicated Support Executive 1 Support Team Developer (on need basis)

8 TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS UpsideLMS runs on Apache Tomcat 7.0 and MS SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012 R2 server. The server is physically located in Ireland and is dedicated to Upside Learning.
