This Addendum shall be attached to and form a part of the drawings and specifications. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bid Form. In case of difference with previous addenda or communications, this addendum takes precedence. It is the responsibility of all bidders to notify all subcontractors from whom they request bids and from whom they accept bids, of all changes contained in this addendum. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by inserting its number and date in the bidding documents. Failure to do so may subject the bidder to disqualification. QUESTIONS: 1. When does the mechanical work need to be completed? Response: This is a phased project and all work shall be completed per Refer to the Contract Time/Milestone Schedule per spec section Note: Main shut offs to be coordinated with the site and performed outside of school hours. All systems are to remain fully functional during the academic year. Multiple shutdowns of systems will be required. 2. Is the contractor required to keep the existing systems online for the rest of the site during construction? These systems include; but are not limited to, lighting, fire alarm, security, sprinklers, plumbing, and cameras, online during construction. Response: Yes. See Specifications: SPECIAL CONDITIONS, 1.8 Utility Work. 3. The multi-occupancy restrooms are shown on the door schedule to be 20-minute rated doors but they are assigned to hardware groups without latchsets. Per the fire code a fire rated door must latch in place. Response: See project specifications below. 4. Will there be an elevator to remove shotcrete rebound from the upper floors or do we need to install a debris chute out one of the windows? Response: It is acceptable to use the (e) passenger elevator for material removal according to the following three conditions: The weights shall not exceed the maximum load permitted. 2 The interior cab finish is protected from damage. Removal occurs outside of the school day hours as described in Special Conditions, Article Is there any refinishing work required on the stage flooring? Response: Yes, the stage floor shall be refinished per spec section Refer to the keynote on sheet A1.31 at the stage which reads [00-10] SIM, TO BE REFINISHED. Please also refer to keynote on sheet A2.31, and the finish plan on sheet A9.11 in conjunction with the finish schedule legend on sheet A Spec section Foodservice Equipment refers to missing cutsheets. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SECTION INCLUDES A. Solid surface toilet partitions and sight screens, overhead braced. B. Additional cross-bracing as required. C. Attachments screws and bolts. 1.3 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: Submit for components, hardware, and accessories and include the following: 1. Product data sheets. 2. Installation instructions. 3. Cleaning and maintenance instructions. 4. Replacement parts information. B. Shop Drawings: Take field measurements and indicate those measurements for partition layout and dimensions, panel and door sizes, door swings, elevations, anchorage and mounting details, and finishes. 1. Show fabrication and erection of compartment assemblies, to extent not fully described by manufacturer s data sheets. 2. Show anchorage, accessory items and finishes. 3. Coordinate work with placement of electrical fixtures and equipment. D. Coordinate work with toilet accessories. 1.6 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS A. Conform to CCR, Title 24, Part 2, and ADAAG for accessibility requirements. B. Conform to flame spread and smoke developed ratings of 20/95 for panel materials when tested in accordance with ASTM E WARRANTY A. Special Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of solid color reinforced composite toilet compartments that do not comply with requirements or that fail in materials, fabrication, or installation within specified warranty period. 1. Warranty Period, Panel System: Furnish 25-year limited warranty for panels, doors, and stiles against breakage, corrosion, delamination, and defects in factory fabrication and installation. 2. Warranty Period, Hardware: Furnish 25 1-year guarantee against defects in material, fabrication, and installation for stainless steel door hardware and mounting brackets. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS A. Graffiti Resistance: Provide partition material having the following graffiti removal characteristics when tested in accordance with ASTM D6578/D6578M in accordance with Section 9, Graffiti Removal Procedure Using Manual Solvent Rubs : 1. Cleanability: Five required staining agents shall be cleaned off material. B. Scratch Resistance: Partition material shall have the following characteristics when tested in accordance with ASTM D2197, using Gardner Stock #PA-2197/ST pointed stylus attachment on scrape tester: 1. Scratch Resistance: Maximum Load Value: Exceed 10 kilograms. C. Impact Resistance: Partition material shall have the following characteristics when tested in accordance with ASTM D2794, using.625 hemispherical indenter with 2-lb impact weight: 1. Finished Thickness: a. Stiles and Doors: 3/4 inch. b. Panels and Screens: 1/2 inch. B. Stainless Steel: ASTM A666, Type 304. Stiles: Floor-Anchored stiles furnished with expansion shields and threaded rods. 1. Leveling Devices: 7 gauge, 3/16 inches thick, corrosion-resistant, chromatetreated, double zinc-plated steel angle leveling bar bolted to stile; furnished with 3/8 inch diameter threaded rods, hex nuts, lock washers, flat washers, spacer sleeves, expansion anchors, and shoe retainers. 2. Stile Shoes: One-piece, 22 gauge, 18-8, Type 304 stainless steel, 4 inch height; tops with 90 degree return to stile. One-piece shoe capable of adapting to 3/4 inch or 1 inch stile thickness and capable of being fastened (by clip) to stiles starting at wall line. C. Hardware: 1. Latch and keeper. 2. Hinges. 3. Plinths. 4. Door hook/bumper. 5. Pull handle at accessible stalls, both sides of door. Anchors: Expansion shields and threaded rods at floor connections as applicable. Threaded rods secured to supports above ceiling as applicable. Supports above ceiling furnished and installed per Sections Structural Steel and Metal Fabrications. 2.4 HARDWARE A. Latch and Keeper: 1. Sliding Door Latch: 14 gauge (2 mm) designed to slide on nylon track and require less than 5-lb force to operate. Twisting latch operation will not be acceptable 2. Latch Track: Attached to door by machine screws into factory-installed threaded brass inserts. 3. Threaded Brass Inserts: Factory installed for door hinge and latch connections capable of withstanding a direct pull exceeding 1,500 lbs. per insert. 4. Use through bolted, stainless steel, pin-in-head Torx sex bolt fasteners at latch keeper-to-stile connections capable of withstanding direct pull force exceeding 1,500 lbs. per fastener. 5. Hinges: All hardware to be 18-8, type-304 stainless steel with satin finish, continuous, gravity type, full-height, self-closing hinges, adjustable for door close positioning, nylon bearings. 1. Cam: Field-adjustable to permit door to be fully closed or partially open when compartment is unoccupied. 2. Hinges: Attached to door and stile by theft-resistant, pin-in-head Torx stainless steel machine screws into factory-installed, threaded brass inserts. a. Fasteners secured directly into the core are not acceptable. 3. Furnish door with two 11-gauge (3-mm) stainless steel door stop plates with attached rubber bumpers to resist door from being kicked in/out beyond stile. 4. Secure door stops and hinges with stainless steel, pin-in-head Torx machine screws into threaded brass inserts. 5. Provide threaded brass inserts capable of withstanding a direct pull force exceeding 1,500 lbs per insert. 6. Provide hinges that can be adjusted to fully close door at accessible stalls. C. Coat Hook: Provide one on back of each door and as follows: 1. Coat Hook: Constructed of stainless steel and shall project no more than 1-1/8" (29 mm) from face of door. 2. Secure coat hook to door by through-bolted, theft-resistant, pin-in-head Torx stainless steel screws. Provide through-bolted fasteners capable of withstanding a direct pull force exceeding 1,500 lbs. per fastener. 3. Provide 2 hooks at accessible stalls; one at 48-inches aff and one at standard height. D. Hardware Material Finish: Stainless steel only; Zamac, aluminum, or extruded plastic are not acceptable hardware materials. A. Compliance: Operating force of less than 5 lb (2.25 kg). B. Emergency Access: Hinges, latch allow door to be lifted over keeper from outside compartment on inswing doors. C. Materials: 18-8, Type 304, heavy-gauge stainless steel with satin finish only. Zamac, aluminum, or extruded plastic are not acceptable hardware materials. D. Doorstops: Prevents inswinging doors from swinging out beyond stile; on outswing doors, doorstop prevents door from swinging in beyond stile. E. Fastening: Hardware is secured to door and stile with pin-in-head Torx stainless steel machine screws. Hinges, latch and optional door stops secured to door with pin-in-head Torx stainless steel machine screws into factory-installed, threaded brass inserts. Fasteners for hinges, latch and optional door stops secured directly into core not acceptable. 1. Threaded Brass Inserts: Factory-installed; withstand direct pull force exceeding 1,500 lb per insert. F. Coat Hooks: Provide one on back of each door and as follows: 1. Coat Hook: Constructed of stainless steel and shall project no more than 1-1/8" (29 mm) from face of door. Door Latch: Track of door latch prevents inswing doors from swinging out beyond stile; on outswing doors, door keeper prevents door from swinging in beyond stile; 16 gauge sliding door latch, 14 gauge keeper. H. Locking: Door locked from inside by sliding door latch into keeper. I. Hinge Type: 1. Continuous, Full-Height Institutional Hinge. a. Hinges: 16 gauge stainless steel, self-closing, 3 section hinges. J. Mounting Brackets: 1. Full-Height. a. Mounting Brackets: 18 gauge stainless steel and extend full height of panel. b. U-Channels: Secure panels to stiles. a. Angle Brackets: Secure stiles-to-walls and panels to walls. 2.5 FABRICATION A. Overhead-Braced Units: Provide manufacturer's standard corrosion-resistant supports, leveling mechanism, and anchors at pilasters to suit floor conditions. Provide shoes at pilasters to conceal supports and leveling mechanism. B. Door Size and Swings: Unless otherwise indicated, provide 24-inch- (610-mm-) wide, inswinging doors for standard toilet compartments and 36-inch- (914-mm-) wide, in-swinging doors with a minimum 34-inch- (863-mm-) wide, clear opening for compartments designated as accessible. C. Urinal Screens: 1. Integral-Flange, Wall-Hung Urinal Screens: Manufacturer's standard thickness, but not less than inch (0.7 mm). D. Finish Thickness: 1. Partition Panels: 1/2-inch (13 mm). 2. Pilasters: 3/4-inch (19 mm). 3. Stiles and Doors: 3/4-inch (19 mm). 2.6 FINISHES A. Stainless Steel Surfaces: No. 4 satin finish. B. Exposed Steel Surfaces: Polished chrome plated. C. Leveling Device: 7-gauge, 3/16" (5-mm) hot rolled steel bar; chromate-treated and zincplated; through-bolted to base of solid color reinforced composite stile. D. Attachments, Screws, and Bolts: Stainless steel, theft proof type, heavy duty extruded aluminum brackets. E. Through Bolts and Nuts: Stainless steel with tamperproof heads. F. Steel Plate Reinforcement: Carbon steel, prepared for fasteners, 1/8 inch thick. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Verify that openings are ready to receive work. B. Verify field measurements are as shown on shop drawings. C. Verify correct location of built-in framing, anchorage, bracing, electrical and plumbing fixtures. D. Beginning of installation means installer accepts existing conditions. 3.2 INSTALLATION A. General: Comply with manufacturer's written installation instructions. Install units rigid, straight, level, and plumb. Secure units in position with manufacturer's recommended anchoring devices. 1. Maximum Clearances: a. Pilasters and Panels: 1/2 inch (13 mm). b. Brackets: Secure panels to walls and to pilasters with continuous brackets using appropriate anchor devices attached at midpoint and near top and bottom of panel. a. Locate wall brackets so holes for wall anchors occur in masonry or tile joints. b. Align brackets at pilasters with brackets at walls. B. Overhead-Braced Units: Secure pilasters to floor and level, plumb, and tighten. Secure continuous head rail to each pilaster with not less than two fasteners. Hang doors to align tops of doors with tops of panels and adjust so tops of doors are parallel with overhead brace when doors are in closed position. 1. Attach panels and pilasters to brackets with through bolts and nuts. Locate headrail joints at pilaster center line. 2. Provide for adjustment of floor variations with screw jack through steel saddles integral with pilaster. Conceal floor fastenings with plinths. C. Urinal Screens: Attach with anchoring devices to suit supporting structure. Set units level and plumb, rigid, and secured to resist lateral impact. D. Partition Hardware: 1. Equip each toilet stall door with continuous hinge and door latch. 2. Install door strike keeper on each pilaster in alignment with door latch. 3. Equip each toilet stall door with one coat hook and bumper. E. Tolerances: 1. Maximum Variation from Plumb or Level: 1/8 inch. 2. Maximum Misplacement from Intended Position: 1/8 inch. 3.3 ERECTION TOLERANCES A. Maximum Variation from Plumb or Level: 1/8-inch. B. Maximum Misplacement from Intended Position: 1/8-inch. 3.4 ADJUSTING A. Adjust and align door hardware to uniform clearance at vertical edges of doors. Clearance space not to exceed 3/16 inch. B. Hardware Adjustment: Adjust and lubricate hardware according to hardware manufacturer's written instructions for proper operation. 1. Set hinges on in-swinging doors to hold doors open approximately 30 degrees from closed position when unlatched. 2.
