_spav prefabbricati s.p.a. historical notes The activity Spav Prefabbricati started its activity in 1960 in the outskirts of Udine (north east of Italy) Until this time it has realized more than 2000 buildings for different uses both in national and foreign countries thanks to the employment of precast elements made by vibrated concrete or pre-stressed concrete manufactured with fixed and mobile plant. The main plant lactated in Martignacco (Udine) cover a total area of square meters, with three covered manufacturing divisions ( s.m.) that allow an annual manufacturing production of cubic meter of concrete
_research and development high technology SPAV uses its own research and development center divided into 4 sections that work in close collaboration in order to meet any structural, economic and architectural customer request. Thanks to the employment of the most modern data processing technicians are able to control all stages, from design to production such as all stages of manufacturing optimizing timing in full compliance with methods and assuring a total quality finished product.
_structural test e check Constant innovation in production processes and materials allow SPAV to make structural and non-destructive technical tests, load testing of models and elements. Careful checks using analytical thermal mapping of elements in compliance with fire resistance regulation. All precast elements in vibrated concrete and pre-stressed concrete are made with concrete having the required strength foreseen in the project by the use of concrete cycle continuous fixed plant fully computer-based.

_ structural test e check Mixtures are produced in accordance with project specifications using selected aggregates studied by company technicians. The selected aggregates are CE branded and are periodically verified with internal controls and sent to external accredited laboratories. The CE branded concrete, is controlled by chemical periodical analysis. In order to reduce the water / concrete ratio fluidizing additives accelerant are used in order to pursue an improvement of the durability of concrete handmade.

_ structural test e check Concrete casting maturation occurs naturally or through accelerated maturation cycles with steam constantly controlled and adjusted depending on the type of product. In accordance with regulation in force withdrawals of mixing are made and resistance is tested in the internal laboratories or sent to external accredited laboratories. Test outcomes are recorded in the production register.

_house buildings grandi pannelli spav system The building system named "Grandi Pannelli SPAV" allows realize, through the use of precast elements manufactured in factory, mono and multi-storey buildings in areas declared seismic or not. The definition of components that make up the structural system "GRANDI PANNELLI SPAV" comes from the breakdown of prefabricated elements of buildings designed and developped by the tunnel casting system. The system is "open" since both the distribution and the distance between walls in plan is variable. In tunnel types have been identified slab net lights that allow freedom and optimization in distribution for possible housing types both for residential buildings, hotels, schools or other buildings. grandi pannelli spav

_house buildings STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS Slab elements: They are made in reinforced and vibrated concrete lightwaight with polystyrene hollow flooring block. For 5 cm. lean on transverse elements of the body wall. Are selfsupporting on the light provided for their use and their thickness is between 1 / 25 and 1 / 30 of the light calculation. They are armed with wire mesh in the slab, in the ribs if necessary brackets, reinforcement bars as flexural testing. Production: are made on metal standard formwork width of 2.4 m, with vibration system and built-in steam curing. Soffit has the appearance of the face view from the metal formwork bottom while the extrados is manually screeded. Assembling: transported, properly shimmed, by trucks and assembled by cranes. The operation does not require special care because the moon shelf assembly has been previously set with the walls. Lifting is done with ropes attached to bushes embedded in casting. grandi pannelli spav

_house buildings WALL ELEMENTS Transverse wall elements Elements made in reinforced vibrated concrete, height equal to staircase, length dependent on static checks and production and transportation requirements, thickness 0,15 0,2 ml. Reinforced with a mesh along the wall or alternatively on both sides with ligature transverse curbs and vertical openings are framed with lintels and rebar reinforced with curbs and crossclamped at 45 Longitudinal bracing wall elements Made inreinforced and vibrated concrete. Thickness 0,15 ml 0,20 ml related to its function and static requirements and dimensions of the tie rods. Height is equal to staircase and length depends on the static requirements and distribution. Reinforcement is similar to those of the transverse walls. grandi pannelli spav
_house buildings Production : elements are manufactured in vertical massproductionto or in balancing metal formwork. The operations have the following sequence: - formwork cleaning and treatment with mold release oils - positioning of metal reinforcement and incorporated into the formwork (metal inserts, electrical, etc.) - casting and vibration -steam curing - dismantling by crane and storage elements in service areas. Assembling: elemnts are loaded onto trailers and sent to building yard. Laying is performed with cranes, the panel is lifted by metal ropes attached to bushings embedded in the cast, is placed on thickness and stabilized using telescopic poles sleeves attached to hooks embedded in the slab. The last operation is levelling and plumbing. grandi pannelli spav

_house buildings CLADDING PANLES Plywood cross elements: Are placed on the heads of the building and consist of 0,15 0,20 ml of bearing concrete, 0.05 ml of the insulating layer loop, 0.05 ml of concrete external protection. The bearing layer is reinforced like wall elements. The union between the layer of external protection and internal loadbearing layer is performed with patented systems commercially available and designed to achieve the maximum independence between the various layers of the panel, ensuring the stability and durability. In the external plate is positioned a network of welded steel mesh Ø4 10 x 10. Elements panels: only functions of plugging (thickness 0,08 0,01 ml) or even to those of longitudinal bracing (thickness 0.2 0:13 4 ml). Reinforcement is similar to that of the walls, but in the former case is positioned on the outside a net 10 x 10 while in the second case is similar to that of the bracing elements. The insulating layer is made on site by saddling internally a plasterboard counterwall. grandi pannelli spav
_house buildings Production: elements are manufactured in balancing metal formwork. The production operations does not differ from the wall elements except for the plywood walls in which you also have: - Installation of the insulation layer - Casting of the outer plate of protection and relative positioning of reinforcement and incorporated. Assembling: assembling and transport are similar to that of the panels elements. Complementary elements: They are prefabricated elements that usually do not serve any static function such as stairs, railings, elevator shafts, blocks bathroom. These are elements with thin walls (about 0.08 ml) and reinfroced with a meshed welded network. grandi pannelli spav

_house buildings SETTING OF STATIC STRUCTURES The overall organization and layout of the structures is designed for buildings that can withstand high levels of seismic actions. The static scheme is the classic box-shaped structures with main elements orthogonal to the façades and both vertical and horizontal bracings to ensure the overall stability to seasmic forces. The functions carried out by static structural elements are: - The walls are trending transverse load-bearing elements and bracing in this direction - The walls are generally longitudinal bracing elements only in this direction - The floors act as rigid floor diaphragm and sharing between the walls absorbing the forces acting on the horizontal construction. The solidification between the various elements is made of prefabricated joints in concrete cast on site and steel chains with continuous mechanical arranged: - Vertical steel wire inside the walls -Horizontalslow steelgrooves contained withinthethicknessof thefloor and arranged in two directions perpendicular to each other - Horizontal steel wire inside the walls in case is necessary build shelves. grandi pannelli spav
_house buildings STRUCTURAL JOINTS Horizontal joint between overlapping walls It is a simple chaining joint contained in the thickness slab. The horizontal section is prestressed by means of the vertical chains of harmonic steel. Horizontally in the thickness of the slab are placed chains plan. The joint constraint to: - Cylindrical hinge to the lateral deflection of the wall - Simple support for bending of the slab Horizontal joint between vertical wall and floor The joint is compressed between the walls and stacked them throuh the jutting reinforcement and the vertical chains. Vertical joint between walls Primary shelves can be combined into composite organized shelves through vertical joints. The horizontal chains are realized with steel tie-rods. grandi pannelli spav
