Founded in 1964, the Laframboise Group is one of eastern Ontario s busiest and most highly respected industrial and institutional contractors. 4 Our History Rapid expansion In 1964, Robert Clare Laframboise began business as a residential plumbing, heating and sheet metal contractor with six employees. Within five years, the business had expanded to include a mechanical and electrical division, and to serve industrial and institutional clients. In 1976, a further expansion established a fabrication facility, which designs and fabricates pressure vessels, heat exchangers and storage tanks. In 1978, Laframboise Group continued its growth with the addition of a Pipe Fabrication Facility. Most recently, in 2014, Laframboise expanded once again with the addition of an 80,000 square foot module assembly and fabrication facility. In 1990, Laframboise expanded into the United States as the Laframboise Group. In 1995, the company completed its expansion to date with the establishment of Groupe Laframboise Ltee. in Quebec, concentrating once again in the industrial sector. Today, Laframboise remains a family operated, privately owned trades contracting firm. The company maintains a head office in Cornwall, Ontario and also has offices in Thurso, Quebec, Massena, New York and Bartow, Florida. 5 Quality Highest quality products The Laframboise Group Quality Control Division ensures that all customers receive the highest standards of workmanship on each and every project. Our certified quality control programs and procedures are policed by an independent quality control division that reports directly to the President. All programs are consistent with the requirements of pertinent regulatory authorities and approved by appropriate jurisdictional bodies. More than that, we implement special procedures where required to accommodate our customers specifications. Our Quality Control Division produces all Laframboise Group quality control manuals, implements all quality assurance programs and oversees the procurement of all materials. Expert personnel Our expert inspection personnel are trained and certified to ensure that all our projects adhere to appropriate specifications and codes. We carry out a complete inspection on every shop-fabricated and field-implemented project from raw materials through to the finished product. Laframboise project personnel work to the specifications, procedures and codes set by ANSI, API, ASME, ASTM, AWS, CSA, CWB, ESA and TSSA under the local inspection authorities. 7 Construction Management Substantial expertise in construction management From constructing entire plant process systems to completing shutdown assignments, our expert Contract Management Division offers complete contract and maintenance services. Our depth of experience and strict attention to detail ensure that our customers projects roll out on schedule and come to completion on budget. Our industryleading expertise enables us to monitor activities on the most complex projects and shutdowns. A dedicated team for every client Once we reach an agreement with a customer, we assign a dedicated project team. Complete authority including all communications and decision-making is handed over to the project manager to ensure the team delivers on every requirement. Detailed planning, scheduling, evaluation of tools, materials, equipment and manpower requirements are identified for each project and entered into our state-of-the-art computer system. At this point, construction begins. Supervisory, technical and support staff are brought together under the project management team s detailed action plan. With all field work accepted by the project management team, our quality control and inspection personnel test systems and perform final quality assurance before turning the project over to the customer. 7

8 Electrical and Instrumentation Our Electrical and Instrumentation Division provides design and installation capability for the industrial and institutional sectors, specifically for applications involving high and low voltage requirements. From primary connection through to equipment check out, our personnel are available for all projects, regardless of size. Having completed contracts in a wide range of markets and technologies, our experts have the experience to direct the most complex projects. Safety first Our team offers on-site installation and custom pre-fabricated electrical and instrumentation panels complete with (specified) electrical controls equipment and instruments where required. When a project is complete, and prior to energizing, we test all systems, balance phases, and complete calibrations to ensure utmost safety for personnel as well as trouble-free operation. In the event of an unscheduled shutdown, we provide service vehicles equipped with the tools and materials we need to repair the situation. As well, all work is executed in accordance with applicable federal and municipal codes, regulations and by-laws. 8

9 Engineer Procurement Construction In today s economy many clients are choosing to have their project completed by sourcing one Contractor to complete all aspects of construction including engineering, procurement and construction. Management Team For all EPC Contracts, Laframboise implements key components of our core values. We promote a team approach to all project issues by assembling a team of professionals from engineering, procurement and construction with our management lead and client representative. This team ensures that the project safety, quality, schedule and cost are maintained or exceeded during the engineering, procurement and construction activities of the project. During the detailed engineering stage of the project, our team focuses on the availability of specified equipment and material, and oversees the constructability of the project as it relates to quality, schedule and value. Engineering Laframboise partners with many prominent engineering firms encompassing energy recovery, power production, fuel, chemical and consumer goods projects which includes all construction detailed design. Construction detailed design entails civil, structural, mechanical, piping, sheet metal, electrical and instrumentation. Our team has the ability to design a project from a simple layout and flow sheet, working closely with our Clients and representative. Procurement Our highly resourceful procurement staff has the experience and contact base to ensure that the equipment and materials specified for the project will be procured with the certainty that the quality, delivery and value of the items will be maintained for the project. Construction Laframboise provides construction expertise for tank and pressure vessel fabrication and installation, structural steel fabrication and installation, mechanical equipment installation, pipe fabrication and installation, sheet metal fabrication and installation, as well as electrical and instrumentation installation. Laframboise also maintains excellent working relationships with excavation, piling, concrete forming and pouring, masonry, roofing, siding and finishing contractors which enables us to manage the quality, schedule and cost of all projects. 9

10 HVAC / Sheet Metal Our HVAC/Sheet Metal Division provides design, fabrication and installation services in the pulp & paper, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceutical, plastics and general manufacturing sectors. This division excels at all types of sheet metal fabrication including ductwork, various ventilation components, superior-quality hoods, casings, filter cabinets, insulated panels and plenums. We specialize in custom industrial fabrication of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other base metals and alloys from 28 ga. to 10 ga. Meeting diverse customer needs The development of an increasingly diverse service offering is the primary focus of this creative division. Our HVAC/Sheet Metal team works to meet customer demands while maintaining proper engineering principles. We solve problems There is a solution for every HVAC/ Sheet Metal challenge and our experts are committed to providing it. Our 14,000 square foot HVAC/Sheet Metal Division fabrication facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. And with a fully stocked inventory of materials always on hand, we fill customer requirements swiftly, often overnight. If your timeframe is short for scheduling maintenance, we guarantee that we will meet your deadline. Our dedicated personnel are available around-the-clock and are committed to every job until it has been completed to the customer s satisfaction. The HVAC/Sheet Metal Division has earned a reputation as a provider of choice for the fabrication and installation of sheet metal products. 11 Millwrighting / Rigging Our Millwrighting/Rigging Division is well diversified to meet our clients needs, large and small. Managed by a group of experienced personnel, our team has developed the skills and technical resources to complete the most complex projects in the industrial and institutional sectors. We emphasize training in this division, which keeps our personnel fully conversant in the ever-expanding technology of construction-related millwrighting and rigging. Superior tools and processes Our time-saving, state-of-the-art tools guarantee the reliable and accurate installation of equipment, from laser alignment to speciality lifting apparatus. The professional documentation that accompanies all our jobs ensures your records will be up to date and complete. As an option, we can provide a recorded database bar coding system so you can easily track large and small equipment that is relocated locally or around the world. This division offers start-to-finish projects for new equipment installation, equipment maintenance, machinery rebuilds, equipment removal, relocation and reinstallation, and commissioning. 11

12 Piping / Pipe Fabrication Our Process/Utility Piping Division is a dedicated team of individuals that provides customers in the industrial and institutional sectors with documented, certified, highly specialized custom piping systems, fabricated and installed per specifications, including all testing and cleaning requirements. We are certified to fabricate and install piping systems under such codes as ASME B31.1, B31.3 and CSA B51. We utilize materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel, aluminium, hastalloy, titanium, inconel, chromemoly, alloy 20 and other exotic materials from smallgauge to multiple inches in thickness. Our 36,000-square-foot fabrication facility uses the most up-to-date technologies and manufacturing techniques to maximize production and minimize costs. Tracking your job Our Process/Utility Piping Team uses a data-based, labelling system that identifies the precise status of our piping spool fabrication, shipment and installation so that we can reliably and accurately advise customers on their projects status. As well, we use computerized drafting software to provide isometric drawings for fabrication and installation from customer-supplied process, instrumentation and general arrangement drawings. This ensures that fabrication and installation are completed efficiently. 12

13 Shop Fabricated Tanks/ Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers Within Laframboise Group of Companies we also have ASME U & R stamp certified fabrication facilities, equipment and design abilities to manufacture Shop Fabricated Tanks, Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers that meet our customer s needs. An example of the types of these products would be Mixing and Blending Vessels, Distillation Columns, Evaporators, Chemical Reactors, Process Tanks, Spray Condensers, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks and Reboilers. Much of our success is a result of our high standards and strict adherence to our quality control guidelines. Our personnel work meticulously to include these specifications: ASME Code Section VIII Division 1, ASME Code Section I, ASME B31.1, CSA B51, CAN 3 Z299.3, CAN 3 Z299.4 and CWB W47.1. Our shop personnel have the certification, procedures and experience to provide products in alloys such as Carbon Steel, Duplex Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Inconel and Titanium. 13

14 Field-Erected Storage Tanks Laframboise has the facilities, equipment and ability to design, fabricate and field erect steel plate storage tanks, in accordance with API 620, 650 & 653 standards and certifications as well as customer specified design criteria. Our storage-tank field-erection personnel have the experience and procedures to build storage tanks from various metal types which include but are not limited to aluminium, carbon steel, duplex stainless steel, hastelloy, inconel and stainless steel. The Laframboise storage-tank field-erection crew is a team of highly skilled individuals who have the experience and training to successfully complete our customer s projects safely while delivering a quality product on schedule in the most economical fashion. 14

15 Structural Steel Our Structural Steel Division fabricates and erects customers projects efficiently and to exacting specifications whether the project is a completely new build from the ground up or an addition to an existing facility. This division provides detailed engineering and calculations, fabrication in our 18,000-square-foot, CWB W47.1 division-2 shop and erection at any location with our dedicated personnel. No job too complex Our team will fabricate and install miscellaneous steel including, but not limited to, platforms, railings, mezzanines, stairs and structures in the industrial, institutional and commercial sectors of the construction industry. There is no project too challenging for our Structural Steel Division. This team of highly skilled individuals has the depth of experience and training it needs to successfully complete our customer s projects safely, efficiently and on schedule. 15
