Baca Ranch Intensive Level Survey: Intensive level survey of two ranch building complexes comprising 23 buildings in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. Property is owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Project goal was to provide building evaluations to guide future site planning, maintenance and development. 3 1999 to SLATERPAULL s, Denver, Colorado 2011 Associate, Historic Preservation Studio Leader Responsible for contracting, project design, management, construction documents, construction administration, and cost estimating for large and small projects primarily involving existing buildings and historic structures. Historic preservation experience includes adaptive reuse of historic structures, compliance with national, state and local preservation guidelines, historic preservation tax credits, historic structure assessments and reuse feasibility studies, due diligence reports, ADA studies, specification writing, drawing quality control and grant writing. Notable projects listed on the National Register for Historic Places: Denver Union Station Historic Structure Assessment: Developed comprehensive building assessment of iconic c train depot. Identified strategies relating to the proposed adaptive reuse and compliance with the Secretary of the Interior s Standards. Emerson School Redevelopment: Adaptive reuse of 1885 school to house preservation and conservation organizations. Addressed accessibility issues and created a model for sustainable upgrades with a LEED gold achievement. Restored brick, stone, wood windows, interiors and exterior woodwork. Designed new interior office spaces, restored common spaces, provided accessible toilet rooms and a ground source heat pump mechanical system. Engine House #5: Adaptive reuse of 1922 Fire Station into architect s offices. First historic building in Colorado to achieve Certified LEED Platinum. Project utilized innovative green building systems and techniques while restoring brick, terracotta, wood and steel windows, plaster, stucco, exterior wood work and roofing tile. Funded through private funding, grants and historic tax credits. Tivoli Student Union Revitalization: $22 million dollar revitalization of historic brewery converted into student union on a higher education campus. Complete exterior restoration including paint stripping, brick and stone masonry, wood and steel windows, low slope roofing and stucco, while building was completely occupied. Addressed life safety, code compliance issues, and accessibility upgrades.
