5 The advantages of composite materials Composites have only been around for 15 years or so, compared to traditional materials and other alternatives such as polypropylene. Safety and performance! The Cover-All range is childproof and can be locked down to deny access to unauthorised people. Until recently, composites were seen as a high-cost alternative to the more traditional materials. However, major technical advances by manufacturers have greatly reduced the cost of composites, which enables them to compete head-on with the current market. Today, composites are used for a wide variety of applications, ranging from bridges and sporting goods to aerospace products - and even satellites! Now Eccles has adapted this space age technology to modern day life. Extensive research into these new lightweight and durable materials has resulted in the new and innovative Cover-All range of access covers, which outperforms its traditional rivals and points the way forward for the industry. The new range of access covers meet all modern safety standards, providing a non slip area around the keyholes, heel protectors fitted to cover at the keyhole lifting points - also the area for locking down the cover. All covers within the Supreme range have the option to be fitted with rubber seals, to prevent the egress of noxious odours from below. Brass inserts in frames, avoiding corrosion, offering an enhanced finish and also ease of removing the locking screws. Lifting keys if required. The practical advantages of reinforced fibre resin composite manhole covers are enormous. Eccles experience in the field ensures that every product detail and its application have been addressed. Steel units 20units - 420KG Units shown are 600x450mm NEW APPLICATIONS - The Cover- All range is ideal in a health conscious environment, with the new advanced composite material produced from special resins, rendering it inert from unwelcome bacteria. This makes Cover-All ideal for a wide variety of environments, ranging from hospitals, public toilets, supermarkets and sublevel areas through to locations such as kitchens, where food is prepared. And with Cover-All, brass or stainless steel edging as used on traditional products becomes redundant, reducing hiding places for germs and bacteria, whilst cleaning is made easy, with Cover-All suitable for steam cleaning, jet washing or treatment from anti bacterial agents or household cleaning fluids (usually corrosive to traditional steel products). 7 Cover-All - Superior Recessed 86mm and 71mm deep Produced in four sizes - 300x300mm, 450x450mm, 600x450 & 600x600mm, these covers are suitable for external usage including pedestrian and driveway areas, up to 3.5 tonnes. They can receive up to 65mm thick Pavior bricks, allowing for sand to the underside of the Pavior unit. The 60mm will take a 50mm thick Pavior brick and below. Heel protectors are fitted, covering the keyhole lifting area for added safety, with an anti slip pattern around these area s. The 300x300 & 450x450 Superior can also be fitted with an adaptor plate (not ring), converting it into a circular opening, suitable for a 300mm or 450mm diameter chamber. This reduces the need for two separate products, making life simpler for both the supplier and the customer. The recessed tray type is suitable for filling with concrete to a required depth to suit the installation of the floor tiles. The Supreme, as with the Superior, is childproof and will be lockable, with heel guards fitted around the keyhole area, again, with added anti slip pattern around this particular area. The recessed tray type will be produced with a high tech bonding surface on the internal faces of the covers, an advantage for better bonding with concrete. The accuracy of manufacture on this particular cover allows virtual zero tolerance between cover and frame, which will be minimised to 0.5mm. This is not consistently achievable with galvanised steel products. Eccles will supply the recessed tray type, single sealed, rubber sealed or double sealed-which everthe customer requires.
