It is inert to chemical reactions and absorption of essentially all aqueous media. Its only degrading environments are essentially oils and solvents. Undisturbed polystyrene foams exposed to biologically rich soils for many decades exhibit negligible degradation. Shelf Life The useful lifetime of polystyrene foam is essentially unlimited, at least many decades, in absence of long-term exposure to sunlight, oils and solvents.

15 Termites, Ants and Rodents Polystyrene cannot be digested or metabolized by animals, insects or microorganisms. Hence it is not a source of food and is not consumed by pests. Such pests could presumably burrow through polystyrene foam if there is an incentive such as another food source or shelter to be reached. Chemical Absorption The polystyrene foam used for dunnage, insulation and load bearing applications is essentially a closed cell structure. Therefore liquids are unable to permeate and saturate the foam through open channels, as with water in a sponge. The polystyrene itself which makes up the foam structure is highly inert to the absorption of aqueous, including acid and bases, and to contaminants that are readily soluble in water, uncontaminated by organics, salts and trace metals. Polystyrene can absorb significant amounts of oils, fats and solvents, and may be significantly degraded in such environments. Temperature Stability The use temperature range of polystyrene foam widely exceeds the range of ambient temperatures in all climates. The upper limit for retention of good mechanical properties is about 170 F for prolonged exposure. There is no significant loss of strength at very low temperatures as with rubbery materials. Therefore polystyrene foam remains a good load bearing and insulating material at far sub-zero temperatures. It is used as an insulating material for cold storage installations at temperatures of about -40 F. Life Span Expanded polystyrene is a highly stable compound. The expected life span is indefinite. The installation of Polymer Sand is almost identical to using regular paver joint sand, except for the application of water. Once Polymer Sand sets, it becomes very firm and locks between the paver joints. This firm bond maintains pavers securely in place, being equally effective on both horizontal and sloped surface. FOR USE ON Polymer Sand is recommended for a variety of uses, including pool sides, patios, driveways, parking spaces, pavements etc... Paving stones or slabs have to be installed on drainage bed systems a maximum of 1 inch (2.5 cm) of either sand or stone dust plus a minimum of 5 inches (12.5 cm) of crushed stone. NEVER USE POLYMER SAND WHEN PAVERS ARE INSTALLED ON A CONCRETE SLAB. INSTALLATION Method of application of Polymer Sand for a NEW PAVER JOB: 1. Install pavers and compact. 2. Make sure the top of the pavers are dry. Sweep Polymer Sand in between the paver joints and then compact. 3. Sweep off all excess sand on the paver surface. Insure Polymer Sand lies 1/8 of an inch below the top of the paver (repeat step 2 if necessary). 4. Direct a fine mist of water in the air to dampen all the Polymer Sand joints. Dampen until there is some water retention on the paver joints (30 seconds). 5. Minimize or avoid, if possible, walking on the pavers for at least 4 hours after the installation of Polymer Sand. Method of application of Polymer Sand for a EXISTING PAVER JOB: INSTRUCTIONS 1. Pressure wash all the existing paver joint filling material from the top of the paver to the bottom. 2. Do not combine with any other products (follow steps 2 to 5 of new paver job application).

GATOR DUST BOND MIGHT LEAVE A WHITE RESIDUE IF USED ON CONCRETE PRODUCTS. INSTALLATION 1. Install natural stones on crushed stone bedding that is well compacted. 2. Sweep Gator Dust Bond in between the natural stone joints. 3. Hit the natural stones with a rubber hammer; this will make Gator Dust settle firmly into the joints by removing air pockets. 4. Sweep off all excess Gator Dust on the natural stone surface. Ensure that Gator Dust lies 3mm (1/8") below the top of the paver (repeat step 3 if necessary). 5. Direct a fine mist of water in the air to dampen all the Gator Dust joints. Dampen until there is water retention on joints surface (45 seconds). 6. Minimize or avoid, if possible, walking on the natural stones for 24 hours after the installation of Gator Dust. It is formulated especially for masonry, concrete, brick, block, pavers and common landscaping materials. SRW Adhesives provide a fast, secure method of bonding retaining wall block, steps, corners and coping for commercial and residential walls and pavers even on wet, frozen or damp surfaces. SRW Retaining Wall and Paver Adhesive comes in standard and VOC compliant formulas. 1. Surfaces should be clean and free from oil, grease, excessive water, ice or any other material which may deter adhesion. 2. Cut tip on slant for 1/4" or 3/8" bead. Puncture inner seal with nail or wire. Place cartridge in a caulking gun. 3. Apply adhesive with the caulking gun to only one of the surfaces to be joined. Apply in a continuous bead to ensure complete coverage. Apply no more adhesive than you can cover in 20 minutes. 4. Press surfaces together firmly. For faster curing, lift up top product and immediately reposition. Do not smear adhesive. 5. Vertical or slanted applications may require additional bracing until adhesive has dried. 6. Allow 48-hour cure time and 4-5 days before walking on any steps or heavy traffic areas. CLEANUP Scrape off dried excess adhesive with a putty knife. Remove residue with mineral spirits. (Note: Test cleaning solvent on an out-of-way area to make sure it will not mar the surface to be cleaned.) Storage life: More than 12 months in tightly closed container at 75ºF.
