3 MARMOX SHOWER SLOPE / SHOWER TRAY 3 Preface Barrier-free showers are becoming increasingly popular, whether in a new building or renovating bathrooms. MARMOX offers a wide range of different solutions for the installation of a barrier-free shower. These different solutions are designed to meet the varying requirements of many customer groups.

4 4 1. MARMOX Shower Slope MARMOX SHOWER SLOPE 1.1. Introduction More and more people appreciate the comfort and and the creative design options offered by the installation of barrier-free showers. These and more advantages make barrier-free shower trays an optimal solution for bath-rooms. Tried and tested for many years, MARMOX Shower Slope is an attractive shower underlay for the installation of barrier-free showers. The surface is suitable for the application of both ordinary tiles or mosaic tiles of at least 25 x 25 mm. Special designs for vinyl coverings are also available.

6 6 Description The sloped underlay is not only suitable for installing tiles, but also for mosaic tiles as small as 25 x 25 mm. It distinguishes itself by a low height of 22 mm and a slope of at least 2%. The core of the sloped underlays consists of extruded polystyrene rigid foam coated on both sides with a high-quality cementitious special mortar that is reinforced with an alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh. The special finishing of the coating guarantees a high point load compressive strength. Moreover, the surface is coated with water-proof fleece overlapping the outer sides of the sloped underlay, thus providing a professional and secure sealing of the wall and floor connections. 7 MARMOX SHOWER SLOPE 7 Drainage Both MARMOX Shower Slope versions are equipped with the floor drain WIRQUIN JAMES that is suitable for horizontal and vertical connection to the sewage system. 10 10 MARMOX SHOWER SLOPE 1.3. Installation MARMOX Shower Slope can be installed on both timber or concrete surfaces. It is important to fully adhere MARMOX Shower Slope horizontally to a load-bearing surface. Installation on timber floors 01. A successfull installation requires a clean surface that is free from dust, grease, loose coatings and other impurities. MARMOX Shower Slope can either be installed on an existing floor or integrated into the flooring structure, creating a flush and barrier-free surface. Please note that an eventual change of statics in the flooring structure requires a new static test. 02. Exact positioning of MARMOX Shower Slope and marking of the drainage on the floor. 03. Preparing the sewage connection, positioning and connecting the siphon to the drain. Careful check of the slope and of the tight-ness of the sewage connection. 04. Create and check the horizontal and load-bearing subfloor. 05. Checking the exact positioning by a test-fitting of MARMOX Shower Slope, followed by fixing the siphon including the sealing. 06. Apply the adhesive to the full surfaces of both the subfloor and the reverse side of the MARMOX Shower Slope. 07. Gluing of MARMOX Shower Slope without hollow gaps, checking the exactly horizontal installation. 08. Tightly connecting the frame to the siphon by screwing. 09. Place weight on MARMOX Shower Slope, e.g. using tile packages until the adhesive is hardened. 10. After the adhesive is hardened, the water-proof fleece is glued in order to seal the joints. We also recommend a professional waterproofing of the walls in the shower area.

12 12 Installation on concrete floors 01. A successful installation requires a clean surface that is free from dust, grease, loose coatings and other impurities. MARMOX Shower Slope can either be installed on the existing screed floor or integrated into the flooring structure, creating a flush and barrier-free surface. Please note that an eventual change of statics in the flooring structure may require a new static test. 02. Positional Requirement: Removal of the existing screed. 03. Exact positioning of MARMOX Shower Slope and marking of the drainage on the floor. 04. Preparing the sewage connection, positioning and connecting the siphon to the drain. Careful check of the slope and of the tight-ness of the sewage connection. 05. Positional Requirement: creation of a load-bearing height adjustment, e.g. by using MARMOX Board construction boards that are glued with a polymer modified cementitious flexible adhesive. Alternatively, screed can also be built in. 06. Checking the exact positioning by a test-fitting of MARMOX Shower Slope, followed by fixing the siphon including the sealing. 07. Apply the adhesive to the full surfaces of both the subfloor and the reverse side of the MARMOX Shower Slope. 08. 14 20 MARMOX SHOWER TRAY 2.4. MARMOX Shower Tray Marmoxite Marmoxite - Solid Surface are mineral casting sheets with a relatively high content of mineral fillers produced on acrylic resin ba-sis. A specific production method permits designing structured surfaces which is of advantage in wet rooms where an optimised slip resistance is of particular interest. We also offer wall coverings MARMOX Shower Wall - Marmoxite matching the shower slope finish. The back sides of MARMOX Shower Tray - Marmoxite and MARMOX Shower Wall - Marmoxite are lined with water-proof fleece overlapping the elements at all sides (10 cm), enabling an easy and water-tight installation. Introduction Sometimes the pre-sloped shower underlay or a massive shower tray are not suited for the planned building project. In such cases the solution for an easy and secure installation of floor drains are MARMOX Line Drain and MARMOX Mini KIT.

MARMOX Shower Slope Mini KIT MARMOX Mini KIT is a cost-effective, easy-to-install and secure solution for the perfect installation of a floor drain, for instance in screed in barrier-free showers and for floor drainage in bathrooms and kitchens. MARMOX Mini KIT consists of a MARMOX Board construction board with an inbuilt drain. The surface to be tiled is lined with water-tight fleece that is larger than the board itself, allowing for an easy and secure sealing of the connection joints there.
