3 Nordic Tiled Steam Rooms Our tiled range can follow almost any design configuration and the resultant steam room is one with a highly desirable appearance. Anything that the imagination of our clients and designers can conjure up, can be put into a solid form. Because we work with a solid, structural, insulated material our units are self supporting and can be fabricated as such from accurate drawings, which will be prepared by our team of designers. The design and style of the steam room will be prepared to the clients requirements and our designers will stay in close contact throughout the whole process. Once your design has been decided upon, it will be prepared with extreme accuracy and then assembled in a dedicated manufacturing facility to ensure everything is perfect. The structure will then be disassembled and transferred to site where it will be re-erected in a permanent state by our team of engineers. The cabin will be fully sealed inside and will then be hand-finished by our tilers. Nordic can offer you the utmost in luxury and comfort. Our range of steam rooms leaves you with an aesthetic that is highly desirable and sought after by today's clientele. Specification Materials The construction material used for our Freestyle range is an insulated hard foam which is then covered with a reinforced resin layer that is ready to tile. Due to it s easily machinable nature, we can offer designs that are only limited by clients practicalities. This can make for little wasted space which can frequently occur with pre-fabricated units. Walls The walls of the cabin offer its main stability and can be manufactured in varying heights and shapes. Also, depending upon the difficulty of access to the site, the components of the steam room can be manufactured so that they will fit through a normal doorway. Floor The floor is another integral part of the cabin. It is of great importance to have the correct falls to drainage, otherwise water will pool around the room. The floor must be prepared prior to our installation by a contractor in accordance with floor plans supplied by Nordic. Seating Seating can be individual, such as our luxurious lounger, or bench-style for larger seating capacity. Seating can be altered and designed to suit the needs of each particular situation. For bather comfort and easy cleaning, all seats are designed to be self-draining. Door An 8mm toughened safety glass door is provided and comes complete with frame, handle and hinges. We can offer our standard 750mm size door or the more common disabled-entry door which is 1000mm. Ceiling The ceiling is also formed from the hard foam material and is always designed with a domed or barrel shape, which allows condensation to run off, rather than falling onto bathers. Each cabin comes with a number of flush fitting down-lighters as standard, or can be upgraded to either LED lighting or a fibre optic lighting system. The interior of the ceiling will also be hand-finished in ceramic tiling. NORDIC 3

5 Service and Design Right from the start Nordic will make your experience of our new Tiled Steam Room the easiest. We offer a wide range of services to make things as trouble-free as possible, and that is our aim from the first phone call to the installation of the cabin. As our client, you can expect a site visit from one of our representatives to discuss options and then a full set of quotes plus a set of plans drawn by our designers, free and without obligation. Once you have decided to go ahead with the cabin, we will set an installation date that is convenient to you, and then we will fully install the unit. Tiled Steam Room Typical Design A B A This includes: construction of the cabin, water-proofing of the cabin, tiling of the cabin, installation of generator and test run of all equipment. We will also train your staff in the use of the provided equipment, which will help to ensure long term and correct use. When you purchase one of our Tiled Steam Rooms, it comes as a complete package. 1920mm B 1000mm All parts are supplied as follows: Walls, ceiling, benching, door, door-frame, lighting and generator. The generator is a cartridge system and comes with a self-cleaning cylinder, digital controls, thermostatic sensor, indicator lights, steam injection nozzle, essence injection system and all necessary fixtures and fittings. The product is supplied with a detailed O and M manual and Health and Safety document. The choices start with a basic rectangular tiled steam room with few features other than the seats, the steam outlet and the door. From this base you can move on to all manner of stylish designs which will enhance the look of your cabin. We can add columns, door surrounds, curved walls and much more. Because of this you will end up with a truly unique steam room. Our in-house designers can offer you options and looks which will suit your particular need. Drawing from their wealth of experience in the leisure industry, innovative solutions to problems and stylish design can be offered by them. Close contact will be kept with the client throughout the draughting process to ensure every detail is accurate. The steam room hasn t only been designed to be easy to install, but also to save the operator money. With the traditional construction method of tiled steam rooms, where brick is used to build the exterior, heat is constantly leaking out of the room. 7 Site Requirements Flooring The Tiled Steam Room should be erected on a specially prepared floor, finished in ceramic tiles or other suitable non-slip waterproof material. The floor should be tiled level around the perimeter and seating area as a base for the walls and seats. The internal walking area should slope with a fall of 1/100 towards a central drain. The floor should be totally waterproof and prepared by a contractor prior to our installation (full floor plans will be provided). Ventilation To achieve suitable ventilation it is necessary for the client to provide and run a 100mm diameter rigid plastic vent pipe to connect to the top of the steam room. The duct must be connected to outside air and be less than 8-metres in length. If it is necessary for the duct run to exceed 8-metres, a mechanical extraction unit can be fitted by the client and Nordic will be happy to advise with this process. External Finishes If the steam room is to be situated within block-work walls, it may occasionally be necessary for one or more of these walls to be left down during construction. However, the vast majority of projects using our new material can be constructed after all external walls have been erected. Any surrounding walls should be built independently of the cabin (allowing for a ventilated air gap of between 50mm and 75mm). For a situation where the cabin will be more on display the exterior can be finished with a render and then tiled, painted or finished to your own personal preference. Steam and Finishes Steam Generation Steam is delivered into the cabin by a high efficiency, low maintenance steam generator which is located externally of the steam room. Designed with a selfcleaning steam cylinder and digital controls, the system is ideal for commercial operators who require continuous output with low servicing needs. The generator is supplied with an automatic essence injection system to enhance the bathing environment. A plant area will be agreed with the client at the design stage and the following services must be provided: 1) Suitable electrical supply with isolator. 2) 15mm cold water supply (non-softened) with stop tap. 3) 32mm drain for boiling water with tundish. Nordic will make final connection of all services assuming that they have been provided in accordance with the specified layout and service plans. Internal Finish The finish inside the cabin will be ceramic tiling. The tiling will cover all visible surfaces and will be finished on site after the construction of the cabin. Nordic offers a variety of styles to choose from, as shown, but can offer you the service of sourcing tiles that meet a particular specification,ensuring that your steam room can meet particular colour and style needs. Most of our ceramic tiled steam rooms are finished with mosaic tiles but we commonly work with larger tiles or a mixture of both.
