Awarded in March Thesis title: Numerical Modeling of Coastal Water Movements. B.Sc. in Fisheries Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Selangor. Awarded in June I joined UNISEL in March 2001 as a professor. Since then I have held several major administrative positions. I was the Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Life Sciences from Aug to Sept As the Dean of the Faculty, I proposed and obtained approval from MQA to offer two programs: Diploma in Aquaculture and Bachelor in Environmental Sciences (Biodiversity and Conservation). I was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs) of UNISEL from Oct to Dec Before that, I was the Director of Student Affairs from Nov to Sept I was a Senate member of UNISEL and a member of UNISEL Management Committee for several years. I have also been the chairman of various committees since I started working in UNISEL.
2 Currently I am the dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Life Sciences since September As for my research involvement, I have completed 13 research projects, mainly in marine science. I have also participated in 8 oceanographic cruises in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan. My research findings have been published in many national and international refereed journals and proceedings. I have been involved in various national and international seminars, conferences and workshops as a paper presenter, participant and/or organizer. I have published over 90 articles: 56 in journals (international and national), 26 in proceedings, and 10 occasional publications.
