19 Faculty of Life Conclusions The average C stock in Danish forests is higher than world s and temperate forests average C stock (280 tcha -1 ) Forest floor C stock was significantly affected by tree species category, stand age, precipitation and previous land use. Soil C stocks of Danish forest soils were generally higher than found in previous studies of Danish forest soils. Soil C stock was significantly affected by soil type and tree species category. 19
