3 Short Courses Accredited Chainsaw Level 1 FWPCOT Maintain chainsaws & FWPCOT Trim and cut felled trees Cost: $400 This course is suitable for both experienced and non-experienced chainsaw operators. It has been designed to develop or increase skills in operating chainsaws safely and efficiently in a range of common work situations including when trimming and cutting felled trees. This course includes: Chainsaw Safety including workplace health and safety, hazard and risk management and PPE selection and use. Chainsaw Preparation and Maintenance including cleaning, maintaining and servicing chainsaws as well as chain tensioning and chain sharpening. Chainsaw Operations including start-up and shut-down procedures, saw selection, cutting methods and general chainsaw operation. Our Locations: Your workplace: Duration: 2 Days Chainsaw Level 2 FWPCOT Fall trees manually (basic) Cost: $600 This 2 day nationally accredited course develops the skills required to assess, plan and safely carry out manual tree-felling operations using a chainsaw. It covers procedures for felling basic trees, i.e. single stem or non-complex multi-stem sound trees. Students must undertake Chainsaw Level 1 or equivalent prior to enroling in this course. Chainsaw Level 3 FWPFGM Fall trees manually (intermediate) This course includes the outcomes required to assess, plan and safely carry out manual tree-felling operations using a chainsaw. This course covers the felling procedures for trees with a level of complexity that requires significant tree assessment and practical felling skills. Persons assessed as competent in this unit should be able to effectively fell most trees except very large trees, and/ or those with significant defects and/or characteristics that cause excessive complexity. It applies to trees that have a diameter greater than the bar length of the chainsaw. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: on application Students must undertake Chainsaw Level 1 and 2 or equivalent prior to enroling in this course. Pole Saw FWPCOT Operate a pole saw Cost: $300 This course provides the skills required to trim high branches reachable with a power driven pole saw and to promote tree growth by trimming and felling excess branches. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1 Day Students must undertake Chainsaw Level 1 or equivalent prior to enroling in this course. Page - 03
4 Short Courses Accredited Cost: $300 Wood Chipper FWPHAR Operate a mobile chipper/mulcher The course involves operating a mobile chipper/mulcher in a forest and forest products setting. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1 Day Cost: $599 EWP Licence^ TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) This course requires the operator to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform and shut down and secure elevating work platform. Successful students receive a WorkSafe Victoria Notice of Assessment that must be lodged at the Post Office to obtain the licence. ^ Additional WorkSafe licensing fees apply Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 2 Days Students must be 18 years of age and hold valid photo ID. EWP Escape & Rescue UETTDRRF08B - Perform EWP controlled descent escape & UETTDRRF03B - Perform EWP rescue This course covers the performance of Elevating Work Platform (EWP) controlled descent escape procedures in the work place. It specifies the mandatory requirements for self rescue from a raised EWP and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1-2 Days Students must have HLTAID001 - Provide CPR and a valid EWP Licence prior to enroling in this course. Cost: $150 White Card CPCCWHS Prepare to work safely in the construction industry This course of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training Page - 04 within the construction industry. 5 Short Courses Accredited Manual Handling TLID1001 Shift materials safely using manual handling methods Cost: $190 This course involves the skills and knowledge required to shift loads using manual handling methods, including assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1/2 Day Stump Grinder AHCARB206 - Operate and maintain stump grinding machines This course covers the process of removing tree stumps from the ground with the aid of motorised stump grinders and defines the standard required to: conduct pre-operational and safety checks on machinery and equipment; perform hazard identification and risk control procedures; inspect the work area to determine method of removal using the risk controls; select and safely use a range of stump removal machinery and equipment; perform operational maintenance on stump removal machinery and equipment. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1-2 Day Students must undertake AHCARB210 - Work effectively in the arboriculture industry & HLTAID003 - Provide first aid prior to enroling in this course. Pre-requisite units apply for this program First Aid - CPR HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation Cost: $99 This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is developed for existing workers in the industry who may require CPR training as recommended by the ARC. If you are completing this course, please download the student agreement. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 6 Hours First Aid HLTAID003 - Provide first aid Cost: $199 This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers Page - 05 who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Spotters Course 22325VIC - Course in Workplace Spotting for Service Assets Observe the safe operation of plant and equipment around overhead and underground assets. Chemical Users AHCCHM303 Prepare and apply chemicals & AHCCHM304 - Transport and store chemicals Cost: $400 This course covers the process of preparing and applying chemicals and defines the standard required to: assess the need for chemical use: comply with safety, chemical label and MSDS requirements; prepare an application/spray plan; prepare and apply chemicals; calibrate application equipment and maintain chemical records. Using Chemicals Safely AHCCHM201 Apply chemicals under supervision Cost: $300 This course covers the process of applying chemicals under supervision using handheld or small powered equipment, and defines the standard required to: apply chemicals using handheld or small powered equipment; check, prepare, use and maintain application equipment and personal protective equipment; measure, mix, transport, handle store and dispose of chemicals and comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), chemical label and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) requirements. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 1 Day Safe Approach Distances Cost: $400 UETTDREL14A Working safely near live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker & UETTDRRF01B - Apply ESI safety rules, codes of practice and procedures for work on or near electrical apparatus This course covers compliance with working safely up to the defined safe approach distance near energised electrical apparatus (inc. electrical powerlines) for non-electrical workers. It includes work functions that may be performed, such as vegetation control, scaffolding, rigging, painting, and/or any other activity that requires working safely and complying with requirements and/or established procedures near live electrical apparatus by a non-electrical worker. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 3 Days Standard Climbing AHCARB312 - Use standard climbing techniques to access trees Cost: $1600 The standard climbing course takes candidates through the safety requirements, pre-operational checks, relevant tools and equipment, safe ascension and descent from a tree of a low-risk nature. Our Locations: Your workplace Duration: 5 Days Students must have AHCARB311 - Tie, dress, set and finish arborist knots & CPCCOHS2001A - Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry or equivalent Short Courses Non-Accredited / VESI ESV Annual Refresher Cost: $300 We offer a comprehensive annual refresher training program based on Energy Safe Victoria s annual refresher requirements for vegetation workers holding UET Certificate II in ESI - Powerline Vegetation Control.
