3 TLILIC2001 Licence to operate a forklift truck Trainwest s TLILIC2001 Licence to operate a forklift truck courses are scheduled bi-weekly with options for both new and experienced operators. This training is delivered from our Skills Training Centre in Bibra Lake. OVERVIEW: To provide participants with the practical skills and knowledge to undertake activities related to forklift operations as defined by the Work Health and Safety Regulations. This course covers: Forklift types and uses Hazard identification and control measures Hierarchy of hazard control Correct isolation and tagging procedure Load charts, types and characteristics Lifting attachment types and uses Be able to plan work and manage risks Pre and post start checks Safe operation of the Forklift truck and correct driving techniques Manoeuvring in tight areas (Pivot Point & Rear End Swing) Operate in different environments Park safely and shut down Forklift stability Shift and manoeuvre a variety of loads including stacking and unstacking loads Shutdown procedures and associated paperwork. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Participants must provide identification and be 18 years of age Ability to read and write basic English Ability to read and write basic Maths DELIVERY STRUCTURE: Experienced Operator/Refresher (1 day): This one day refresher course is for anyone who has previously driven a forklift under supervision of an employer or those who have held a forklift licence before. To participate in this course you must have good english, reading and writing skills and must familiarise yourself with the pre-course training materials prior to your attendance. Additional training maybe required if you do not meet and follow the above criteria and further costs will then apply. Non-experienced Operator (2 days): This two day course is designed for beginners or those operators with little to no experience driving a forklift. Page 3 of 12
4 On-site training and VOCs: Trainwest is able to come to your workplace to conduct this training to your employees. In addition, Forklift Verification of Competencies can be delivered on-site and at our training facility. Please contact for available dates and pricing. CERTIFICATION: Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency TLILIC2001 Licence to operate a forklift truck. ADDITIONAL TRAINING DETAILS: Location: All training is delivered at Trainwest Skills Training Centre; Unit 6 / 164 Barrington St, Bibra Lake. Start Time: 8:00 am (Please arrive 15 minutes earlier for registration and ID checked) Finish Time: 4:00 pm What to bring: 100 points of ID including minimum. 1 Photo ID (e.g. Driver s Licence, Passport (current or expired no more than 2 years), WA proof of age card or other Australian Government issued ID card with photo); Existing HRW licence Clothing: Long sleeve shirt, long pants, safety boots INVESTMENT: COURSE DELIVERY COST DURATION Non-experienced operator $ days Experienced operator / Refresher $ day Payments are accepted via direct debit, credit card/eftpos, purchase order or cash HIGH RICK WORK LICENCE: It is the students responsibility to submit applications to WorkSafe for the issuance/renewal of their high risk work licence. WorkSafe High risk work licence Fees: Application for licence (new issue, variation or Interstate): $95.00 Application for variation of licence: $74.55 Application for renewal of licence: $50.40 Application for replacement of lost or stolen licence: $63.00 *No GST is payable on fees Trainwest is able to submit this application on your behalf for an additional admin fee of $25. 6 TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) OVERVIEW: This course covers the skills and knowledge needed to operate a boom type elevating work platform (EWP) and do the following tasks: inspection per-operation tests positioning and setting up the operation of elevating work platforms Our classes have maximum of 8 participants to ensure that everyone can have sufficient time operating the elevating work platform. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Participants must provide identification and be 18 years of age Ability to use and understand basic English Ability to use and understand basic Maths DELIVERY STRUCTURE: This two day course is designed for beginners, those operators with little to no experience with an EWP and those with experience. On-site training and VOCs: Trainwest is able to come to your workplace to conduct this training to your employees. In addition, Verification of Competencies can be delivered on-site and at our training facility. Please contact for available dates and pricing. 8 RIIWHS204D Work safely at heights OVERVIEW: This course covers the skills and knowledge needed for those working in operational roles where they are required to perform work at heights including: Working Safely at Heights Develop Risk Assessments and Hazard Elimination Safe Work Method Statements For Working Safely At Heights Relevant Regulations, Legislation and Australian Standards Anchor Fall Protection, Correct Equipment Selection, Training and Use If you conduct or supervise tasks that are carried out at height you will find this course valuable to the safety of your workplace. Working Safely at Heights is directed at fall prevention rather than fall arrest. This course is designed to provide workers with the skills and knowledge to work safely in any height location such as: General Construction Maintenance Mining Large Factories Other work environments where it is possible to fall from one level to another ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Participants must provide identification and be 18 years of age Ability to use and understand basic English Ability to use and understand basic Maths DELIVERY STRUCTURE: Face to face from our Bibra Lake location. 10 RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces & MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres OVERVIEW: This course covers the knowledge and skills required to enter and work in confined spaces in the Infrastructure and Resources Industries including: Define a confined space Identification Hazard and use control measure Use of Confined Space Entry Permit Risk control measure eg JSA ( Job Safety Analysis) Stand-by person and their responsibilities Correct equipment for tasks Hierarchy of hazard control Rescue Plan Isolation procedures ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Participants must provide identification and be 18 years of age Ability to use and understand basic English Ability to use and understand basic Maths DELIVERY STRUCTURE: Face to face from our Bibra Lake location.
