18 Clay Mine Rio Grande National Forest near Creede, Colorado June 2011 Scope of Work In an effort to stabilize the mine, the HistoriCorps team will: Repair the main support posts and braces Tighten structural framing connections & replace missing wall planks on ore bin Construct the framed enclosure on the open bin top, sheath and roof the framed structure Construct framed enclosure (roof), which is the trestle, log cross ties, and railing that accessed the bin. 19 Seventy-five years of exposure has deteriorated the decorative log-end treatments to the point of necessitating crown replacement.
