Water Level 4 series of measurements (2 in winter and 2 in summer season) Pumping stations: Aluminium leveling 5m staff Calculation of the water level according to: o data from a given site map o the distance between the manhole rim and the water surface Piezometers: Data provided by ATTIKO METRO A.E. 22
Positions of piezometers placed by the construction company ATTIKO METRO A.E. SINTRIVANI Borehole PANEPISTIMIO Borehole ATTIKO METRO S.A. 23
Lab Tests Turbidity (0,8-13,76 NTU/FNU) ph (7,25-7,92) Alkalinity Conductivity (111,4-458,5 mg/l) (0,666-1,035 ds/m) Salinity (0,1-0,3 ) Chlorine (55-71 mg/l Cl - ) Hardness (8,09 9,3 mg/l CaCo 3 ) TDS ( mg/l TDS) 24
Lab Tests Nitrate (<0,5 25,77 mg/l NO 3- ) Ammonium (0,01 2,03 mg/l NH 4+ -N) Phosphate (<0,01 1,16 mg/l PO 4 ) 25
Lab Tests Toxicity (5 15 %) Heavy metals (Fe <0,10 mg/l, Cu <0,05 mg/l, Cr<0,005 mg/l) Microbiological analysis 26
Conclusions Observations (1) The water level is lower than expected due to the operation of the pumps in the: basements of the university buildings and two boreholes constructed by ATTIKO METRO A.E. Satisfactory quantity of water throughout the year Seasonal variation: Pumping stations: around 0.07m Piezometers: m affected by the construction process 27
Conclusions Observations (2) Pumping stations overflow results in multiple moisture problems at the university s facilities Quality meets the requirements set by the legal framework concerning the use of water in terms of irrigation Exclude the use of the water from the AHEPA Hospital pumping station 28
