4 Corridor Context Approximately 17,000 weekday boardings 11 existing 16-line routes: 16A,B,E,J,P Columbia Pike 16G,H,K Columbia Hts West-Pentagon City 16L Annandale-Skyline City-Pentagon 16X Columbia Pike-Federal Triangle (DC) 16Y Columbia Pike-Farragut Square (DC) Routes diverge on both ends East end: DC, Pentagon, Pentagon City West end: Annandale, Columbia Heights West, Culmore, Skyline City Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority 4
5 Corridor Context Most Metrobus riders travel to and/or from stops directly on Columbia Pike Only about 14% of weekday boardings are from stops in Arlington and Fairfax counties that are not on Columbia Pike DC-bound service outperforms all other morning peak destinations Approximately 44% of all Columbia Pike Metrobus alightings during morning peak are in DC (16X and 16Y) High volume of bus-to-rail transfers at Pentagon and Pentagon City An additional 32% of AM Peak alightings are at these two stations, where many transfer to Metrorail Notable volume of bus-to-bus transfers Many transfers between variations of 16-line service Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority 5
