Status of PES Reorganization Impacts on WSPCC Chair Dick Piwko took the message to the Technical Council that WSPCC consensus was to remain within the present PES structure as a coordinating committee to maintain cooperation with other technical committees. PES is allowing WSPCC to remain a Coordinating Committee, with same scope, with emphasis on coordination among multiple committees with wind and solar activities. Part 2: SC, WG, TF and Liaison Reports Broad Coordination Discussions 6. Reports for Existing Wind and Solar Related SCs, WGs, & TFs in PES Leaders of each of the subcommittees, working groups and task forces listed in the following table are requested to give a brief oral report of ongoing and planned activities. Dick Piwko to inform Technical Council and the PES reorganization group that WSPCC leaders and members prefer to remain a coordinating committee and not move into EDPG committee. (COMPLETED TC IS ALLOWING WSPCC TO REMAIN COORDINATING COMMITTEE AT PRESENT) 2. Charlie Smith to take the lead on organizing a panel on ancillary services from renewables at the 2016 IEEE T&D meeting. (COMPLETED 2 HOUR PANEL SESSION HELD WITH STEVE SAYLORS/BOB NELSON/MATT RICHWINE /MAHESH MORJARIA/AIDAN TUOHY AS SPEAKERS) 3. Bob Nelson will take the lead on organizing a panel on inertia-less power systems. WSPCC to help as necessary.
