Apart from participating in building the testing facility, I was primarily responsible for developing the - 1 -

2 boiling heat transfer correlation, modeling the multiphase flow in the pipeline, developing the computer code for simulating chilldown, and writing the monthly reports with the aid of an advisor. The project was for the space shuttle launch program and supported by NASA Kennedy Space Center, NASA Glenn Research Center, and Hydrogen Research and Education (NASA Grant NAG3 2750/2930, subtask 6.g.). Satisfied evaluations from NASA are obtained. Other duties included preparing proposals for future projects with the advisor. Investigated vapor bubble growth during saturated nucleate boiling. A physical model was proposed and verified using CFD code. A thin unsteady thermal boundary layer adjacent to the bubble dome is discovered. This model together with the microlayer model provided a complete mechanism for the bubble heat transfer during nucleate boiling. 01/ /2005, Teaching Assistant Teaching Assistant for courses Thermo & Heat Transfer Design and Laboratory and Intermediate Engineering Analysis.
