2 1 Getting Started Welcome to Cornerstone Growth Edition Version 2 the easy way to manage the performance of your team. It automates reviews, and gives managers practical tips and guidance to develop your talents & make smarter business decisions. As a manager using Growth Edition, you can: Set and share goals for your team Perform manager review View 9-box analytics View reports Manage 360 Feedback Version 2 offers a new interactive dashboard that helps you focus on the tasks at hand. The individual widgets provide quick access to required activities & report live progress to ensure a high engagement of your team. Version 1 Version 2 2
3 2 Getting Started Version 2 has strengthened the password requirements to provide the highest level of data security. All managers & employees must request a new password via the forgotten password link on the login page. Please note all new Passwords must contain the following: 8 or more characters and 1 or more numbers and 1 or more special characters and at least one uppercase letter is required Please note the password link can only be clicked once or the user needs to click the forgotten password link again. 3
4 3 Getting Started Growth Edition provides an easy-to-follow process to complete a performance review. It guides the employee & manager through the individual stages to define goals, measure outcome results & competencies. VERSION 2 PROCESS 1) Goal Setting Managers define goals for their employees Once complete, managers make goals visible via sharing Managers can update goals as often as they like 2) Employee Self Review Employees rate themselves on goals & competencies Once complete they submit their reviews via electronic signature Once submitted employees can unsubmit and change their reviews, until process is locked 3) Manager Reviews Manager rates employees on goals & competencies Once complete they submit their reviews via electronic signature Once submitted managers can unsubmit and change their reviews, until process is locked Managers can run reports and analysis VERSION 1 PROCESS Process was parallel meaning that goal setting, self and manager review were conducted at the same time Managers and Employee could change the reviews at any given time of the process Version 1 did offer sharing to control visibility but no digital signature 4
5 4 Goal Setting The first step in the review process is for managers to define or cofirm sub-goals for each employee to set targets for the employee. In version 2 manager can now add or remove subgoals to make goal setting more meaningful for the employee. SUB-GOAL WEIGHTING Version 2 offers an easy-to-use graphical scale of 1 to 5 bubbles to indicate higher & lower importance of sub-goals. 5
6 5 Review Cycles The next step for the manager is to share the goals with the employee. In version 2, sub-goals can only be created & updated by the managers. In version 1 goals were automatically shared & therefore always visible to the employee. 1. Click Confirm button to confirm employee s goals 2. Pop-up dialog appears, hit Confirm button 3. Goals are now set 6
7 6 Manager Review Tracking performance over time is the basis for any successful talent management. Version 2 offers a redesigned interface, auto-save and spell check. This makes reviewing employees easier & more engaging than ever. View employee self-review If this employee has submitted their self-assessment, you will find a checkbox Show Self-Review. 7
8 7 Submit A Manager Review Once a manager has rated ALL goals & competencies the manager is able to submit the review with a digital signature. Once the review is submitted the employee will be able to see the manager ratings. Once a review is submitted further changes cannot be made unless the review is un-submitted. In version 1 allows the manager to SHARE a review with their employees at any given time and still continue to edit the content. 8
9 8 Analysis in 9-box grid Version 2 offers a powerful 9-box summary view to easily identify high performing employees & those with development needs for all cycles. Based on the average goal and competency ratings all employees are displayed on the grid. 9
10 9 Printing Printing out manager review provides the ability to keep a hard copy of the performance review & use it during discussions with their team members. Please note it is not possible to print the review as a self-assessor. 10
11 10 Overall Score Overall score offers a numeric result from the performance review process. By comparing the overall score every year, you can ensure the continuous improvement of your team members. The overall score is displayed when ALL ratings on goals & competencies are completed based on these manager. Before submitting the manager review, you may review and adjust the rating if you want to update the score. After submitting the review, you will not be able to change the score unless you unsbumit the review. You can also view the overall score in Employee List and Score Reports. 11
12 11 Development Plan & Manager Notes Development plans help to track employee skill development. In version 2.0, the development plan feature is not ready yet but we aim to provide an improved & more powerful version in H that will provide better tracking and suggestion of learning lessons to improve skills gaps. All comments & action entered in existing development plans placed in the overall comment box at the bottom of the team review. Version 1 offered a manager notes features in the top bar which is not available in version 2. 12
13 12 Reporting Version 2 allows managers to generate reports for their direct reports. The following standard reports can be generated for any review cycle: Completion Progress Report allows manager to track the completion of the goal setting and self-review stage to increase user engagement. Employee List and Scores Report shows the review results & offers the summary score for all goals, competencies and overall score. Goals and Competency Score Report provides the individual manager rating for each goal and competency, which allows admins to verify ratings, identify performance trends, and provide further analysis. Goal Detail Report provides detailed insight into the individual goals set for each employee including the sub-goal description and weighting. Reports were only available for admins in version 1 this improvement provides managers with greater access & allows them to analyze when they need it themselves.
