19 Stories from our job seekers
20 Stories from our job seekers Louise Levasseur Is married and has four adult children. Was a florist for 10 years along with being employed at other places since the age of 19 years old. Recovery for me is having a routine that can be adjusted depending on my mental health issues. A big part of this has to do with relationships in the workplace and how healthy and stable they are.
21 Stories from our job seekers AJ Hawke Hi, my name is A.J. Hawke, I'm 19 years old. I started the program at the CMHA this time last year and after about a month, I told my case worker I was looking for employment. My case worker set me up with Christine and she helped me with everything from writing a resume to driving me to and from interviews. Within 2 weeks of meeting her I had a job and have been working there since. This job has helped me get out of the house, helped me get some exercise, and allowed me to socialize again. Before I met Christine I was pretty much a total shut-in, and I know I wouldn't have been able to get a job without her or the program's help. Having a job has had a positive impact on both my mental and physical health.
22 Stories from our job seekers Stephanie Atkinson-Clark Stephanie enjoys playing video games and watching movies as well as spending time with family and friends. Stephanie began working with CMHA employment team when it was first developed. Stephanie has recently obtained competitive employment in a grocery store.
