Staff Training-Basic, the first in a series of four courses, is ideal for inexperienced staff members. This intensive, five day course shows staff how to improve efficiency while meeting quality control standards. The curriculum, geared for local and regional firms, bridges the gap between theory learned in college and the tools needed in practice. Staff will improve skills in preparing work papers and completing detailed audit tests. 2 AICPA Staff Training - Semi-Senior (Level II) (AU-STSS) ( ) Staff will gain the confidence they need to adequately handle small engagements with this, the second in the Staff Training series. This course will improve their communication skills with partners and client personnel, help them in drafting financial statements, write better memoranda and develop an overall confidence that will aid them in meeting client needs. Objective Complete smaller audits, reviews and compilations with minimum supervision Performing more complex analytical procedures Drafting financial statements and footnotes Performing review service engagements Conducting small audits Applying PPC manuals to audits, reviews and compilations Satisfying client and CPA firm needs First-or second-year staff in charge of compilation and review engagements or who have responsibility for major audit sections Value Aids Copies of forms and procedures from Practitioners Publishing Company s (PPC) Guide to Compilation and Review Engagements and Guide to Audits of Small Businesses Pre-requisite: Ten to twenty-two months public accounting experience and completion of AICPA/AHI Staff Training - Basic or equivalent. 3 AICPA Staff Training Beginning In-Charge (Level III) (AU-STBC) ( ) Go one step further in your career and assume higher levels of responsibility with this third course in the Staff Training series. It provides extensive training in crucial procedural, evaluative and supervisory areas. It will help staff improve their planning, review, audit and other engagement skills as well as give them techniques for effective communication with clients and colleagues. Staff s ability to assess risk and materiality and to make non-statistical sampling decisions will greatly improve this all-inclusive course.
