This session will explain what format and instructional changes have been adopted for 2017 year-end reporting and, where appropriate, accompanying accounting changes. 4. Discuss year-end 2017 statement reporting changes Track 3: Importance of Business and Cybersecurity Resiliency Mark Boettcher, Baker Tilly Is your organization prepared for a disruptive / disaster event? Participants will need to select both AM and PM breakouts in order to participate in this session. What is it like to oversee different functions of an insurance company? In this simulation, participants will learn what it is like to run an insurance company. This includes understanding capital structures, pricing decisions, competition and more. Come test your skills and see how your company performs! 1. Understand how insurance companies make profit. Simulations will demonstrate how decisions impact the bottom line of an insurance company. 2. Demonstrate what key risk criteria are critical to underwriting. 3. Demonstrate how decisions made by a competitor will impact their own company.

4 General Session (12:45 p.m. 2:15 p.m.) Turning a Setback Into a Comeback Ron Gus Gustafson When you face an obstacle in your life, think of Ron "Gus' Gustafson. Gus battled for his life at age 9 following a tractor accident that took his right arm and shoulder and crushed his right leg. In spite of his injury, he was determined to excel in athletics. He played varsity basketball (Honorable Mention, All-State) and earned the respect of the coach who once said he'd never make the team. For Gus, each set-back has presented an opportunity to grow. This session will assist insurance companies to understand, identify, and plan for the potential changes to current tax law. 1. Understand how potential tax reform would impact the insurance industry 2. Identify threats and opportunities to their tax positions 3. Understand SSAP 101 impacts due to potential tax reform
