2 HOCHTIEF Stakeholder Dialogue 2016 November 30, 2016 Participants from the stakeholder groups employees, customers, subcontractors, investors/analysts, bank representatives, associations/organizations/ngos, university/college/science, students/college graduates Handling and discussion of the focus areas Procurement, Compliance, Sustainable Products and Services, Attractive Working Environment, Active Climate and Resource Protection, Social Commitment in moderated group work Focus area evaluation in plenary Event moderated by PwC 2
3 Summary Stakeholders confirm that the sustainability activities and focus areas of HOCHTIEF are essential Measures: Expectations and suggestions from the stakeholder dialogue will be presented in the CR Committee Concrete measures will be derived from the suggestions and used as incentives for existing projects Event participants will be notified about the progress of activities and measures Results of the stakeholder dialogue will be published in the 2016 HOCHTIEF Group Report and in internal media 3
4 Focus area Procurement strengthen monitoring mechanisms at construction sites comply with and monitor the Code of Conduct in the entire supply chain exhibit transparency in the supply chain and in accounting (open books) sharpen employees sensitivity (e.g., Day of Sustainability ) contractually agree/personalize sanctions clearly communicate the objectives of sustainable development internally take out non-sustainable products from the internal procurement catalogue 4
5 Focus area Compliance make a voluntary commitment and allow third-party monitoring create and communicate transparency for fields of work create qualification of voluntary services create framework for positive connotation von Compliance introduce checks and monitoring in the supply chain: working hours, working conditions, wages internally train partners: platform for pre-qualification, possibly in sector cooperation, set standards, be a trendsetter in safety 5
6 Focus area Sustainable Products and Services follow high standards: e.g., in project certification, BIM use and training present customer use and highlight opportunities offer sustainability as a service use green bonds as financing instrument offer innovative solutions advise customers in regard to certification promote infrastructure that allows, for example, to avoid the use of vehicles with combustion engines develop concepts to react to shortage of resources assess the entire lifecycle and promote the dialogue with the client continually review its own processes 6
7 Focus area Attractive Working Environment place the focus on occupational safety and health in Germany increase its presence at universities and colleges expand its working time models (observe work-life balance, offer part-time/home office, mobile teamwork), include flexible work-time models and work-life choice in performance reviews refine options for personal commitment: meaningful activity profile in terms of the product promote health management train senior staff: healthy leadership, relaxation, exercise, nutrition design construction sites in a more attractive way 7
8 Focus area Active Climate and Resource Protection promote the use of renewable raw materials introduce e-mobility for company cars place a focus on the selection of building materials in consideration of the environmental balance advance waste reduction increase internal sensitivity for resource protection present financial benefits of sustainability/express measures in monetary terms communicate more about accomplishments 8
