(831) The Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival is a volunteer-run organization lead by a committee of community leaders. While supported by a partnership between the Oldtown Salinas Foundation (OSF) and a nonprofit Organization selected by the planning committee, it is headquartered in the Oldtown Salinas Foundation. The mission of the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival is to foster local celebrities of fantastic food and wine whole highlighting the growing cultural, arts and culinary communities in the Salinas Valley. Applications are currently being accepted for our 2017 Festival Committee. Team members are expected to attend all applicable meetings and most events related to the Festival, as well as aid the production of our fabulous organization. Specific positions we are recruiting for are described below. Committee meetings take place as often as monthly or at a minimum quarterly leading up to the months before the event when they will occur more frequently. Applications are to be submitted no later than Wednesday, Sept. 14 th at 5pm, and can be ed directly svfwapps@gmail.com or mail them to: Oldtown Salinas Foundation P.O. Box 2325 Salinas CA The Executive Committee for the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival shall consist of the Chair, Co-Chair, Director of Management, Director of Finance, Past Chair, and an OSF Representative. In addition, up to ten other directors are allowed so that the Executive Committee has the following key areas of the festival represented: Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Logistics. The OSF Representative must be approved by their boards and every effort will be made to appoint people that also serve as Directors for the Festival. The number of additional directors appointed to the Executive Committee may change from one year to the next. The Executive Committee will meet more frequently than the entire committee with each member having oversight of other directors not present. The core Executive Committee Member positions are defined as follows: 1. Chair Act as the official voice of the event. He or she shall be responsible for preparing agendas for the meetings as well as their effective administration. 2. Co-Chair Work closely with the Chair in fulfilling the mission, goals and successful production of the event while also serving in his or her capacity should they be absent or unable to fulfill their duties. Also acts as Director of Operations the day of the event. 3. Director of Finance Responsible for finance committee (including one OSF and one MCYPG representative) as it relates to advising on the collection, accounting and disbursement of any funds impacting the Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival. 4. OSF Representative Responsible for interface and necessary approvals for the Food and Wine Festival from/with the OSF Board. Also responsible for successful interface and communication with the Farmers Market operated by the OSF (Finance Committee). Additional directors may be added to the Executive Committee are described as follows:
2 5. Director of Media Responsible for production, distribution and follow-up of press releases associated with the festival. Also responsible for paid media and production of all festival related flyers, posters and/or handbills. 6. Director of Sponsorships Responsible for the successful fundraising to support the event. This includes, but is not limited to, forms, thank you letters, silent auction gifts and coordination of sponsor recognition including banners for the festival, tickets for sponsors and more. 7. Director of Logistics Responsible for the successful planning, preparation and execution off all logistics required of the city and the festival. This includes fencing, street closure, portable toilets, trash/recycling receptacles, signage, parking closure, hay bales and tables/chairs, barricades and coordination there-of on the day of the event. This also includes all city and ABC-related permits, meetings, maps, and paperwork 8. Director of Ticketing and Registration Responsible for the planning, production, distribution and accounting for every ticket associated with the festival and all associated events. Also responsible for ordering, organizing, and management of all SVFW merchandise at festival and all sub-events. (Registration Committee).. 9. Director of VIP Responsible for the successful production of a VIP venue including food, beverages and special events that may include lectures, cooking demos and/or a silent auction dedicated to only VIP Patrons. Will work closely with Directors of Vendors / Food / Wine /Wine Judging / Ticketing & Registration / Entertainment / Silent Auction / Sponsorship /Breweries to ensure no cross-over. 10. Director of Vendors Responsible for the successful recruitment, planning and handling of vendors associated with the festival. This includes food vendors, artists, non-profits and for-profit vendors. 11. Director of Wine - Responsible for the successful recruitment and handling of wineries and qualified wine judges for the event, including setup and awards. 12. Director of Food Responsible for assisting the Director of Vendors with recruitment of food vendors, as well as all chef demos and food judging. This also includes a passport of food samples throughout the event, both via vendors and restaurants. 13. Director of Breweries Responsible for the successful recruitment and handling of breweries. 14. Director of Entertainment Responsible for the successful production of entertainment venues at the festival. This may include dancers, live music, lectures, cooking demos, etc as well as all stages and set up. Directors can and are encouraged to have Co-Directors. These positions will involve assisting the Director in any way, with commitment of the Co-Director stepping into the Director position the following year. Additional possible Coordinator positions that complete the full festival committee: 15. Website & Electronic Media Coordinator Responsible for maintaining and updating festival website, including sponsorship logos, committee and participant bios, and marketing material, as well as promoting the festival event(s) through all social media (Marketing Committee). 16. Social Media Coordinator Responsible for creating, maintaining and distributing festival news, activities and event(s) through all social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc ).
3 17. Silent Auction Coordinator Responsible for recruiting / collecting all silent auction items and maintaining a thorough catalogue of said items through sale at event(s). Will also handle follow-through and pick-up / delivery of items to winners (Sponsorship Committee). 18. Kids Zone Coordinator Responsible for a family friendly area at festival complete with children s games and activities (Logistics Committee). 19. Speaker / Demo / Clinic Coordinator Responsible for all speakers and demos during the festival. This may include clinics or seminars prior to event day. 20. Wine Judging Coordinator Responsible for recruiting sommeliers to create a panel of wine judges. Also responsible for setting criteria for wineries, as well as all logistical needs for panel.will handle distribution of all wine awards at end of competition (Wine Committee). 21. Volunteer Coordinator Responsible for the successful recruitment and management of volunteers for assigned roles associated with the festival. This includes waivers, nametags, vests and any special needs associated with their role in the festival (Logistics Committee). 22. Security &Valet Coordinator Responsible security/ valet services festival day (Logistics Committee). 23. Clean Up Set Up Coordinator Responsible for close coordination with each piece of the festival to make sure adequate steps are taken to effective set-up and clean-up. This includes, but is not limited to, procuring supplies and working closely with volunteer coordinator to secure and manage man power. 24. Décor And Signage Coordinator - Responsible for the beauty of the event including balloons, plants, special backdrops and any other appropriately promotional themed features (Logistics Committee). 25. Arts & Culture Coordinator Responsible for the successful recruitment, handling & execution of the cultural stage at the event. This also includes the special treatment of artists looking to exhibit or sell at the event. This may include planning for stage and set up / take down and audio visual. 26. Winemaker Dinner(s) Coordinator Responsible for the successful planning and execution ofa ll Winemaker Dinner-related events prior to the festival (Wine Committee). 27. Kick-off Party Coordinator Responsible for the successful planning and execution of a Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival Kick-off Party prior to the main event as a promotional event (Co-chair). 28. Car Show Coordinator Responsible for the successful coordination and execution of the classic car show portion of the event (Logistics Committee). 29. Photography / Video Coordinator Responsible for assembling and scheduling all photographers / videographers for all special events, and assembling all resulting media in easy-access files. (Marketing)

5 Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival RELEASE & WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT This Release and Waiver of liability (the release ) by Volunteer in favor of the Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival, a non-profit organization, their directors, officers, employees, and agents (collectively, SVFWF ). The Volunteer desires to volunteer for SVFWF and engage in the activities related to being a volunteer. The Volunteer hereby freely, voluntarily, and without duress executes this Release under the following terms: Release and Waiver: Volunteer dies hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless SVFWF and all related entities including the Oldtown Salinas Foundation, the Monterey County Young Professionals Group, and the Oldtown Salinas Association from any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arise from Volunteer s Activities with SVFWF. Volunteer understands that this Release discharges SVFWF from any liability or claim that the Volunteer may have against SVHMP with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the Volunteer s Activities with SVFWF, whether causes by the negligence of SVFWF or its officers, directors, employees, or agents or otherwise. Volunteer also understands that SVFWF does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial assistance or other assistance, including but not limited to medical, health, or disability insurance in the event of injury or illness. Medical Treatment: Volunteer does hereby release and forever discharge SVFWF form any claim whatsoever which arises or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid, treatment, or service rendered in connection with the Volunteer s Activities with SVFWF. Assumption of the Risk: The Volunteer understands that the Activities include work that may be hazardous to the Volunteers, including but not limited to, setup, breakdown, and clean-up of booths, venues, décors/signage, and maintenance throughout course of event of said areas. Volunteers hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm in the Activities and releases SVFWF from all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage resulting from the Activities. Insurance: The Volunteer understands that, except as otherwise agreed to by SVFWF in writing that SVFWF does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance for any volunteer. Photographic Release: Volunteer does hereby grant and convey unto SVFWF all rights, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by SVFWF and its agents during the Volunteer s Activities with SVFWF, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. Other: Volunteer expressly agrees that this release in intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California and that this Release shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Volunteer agrees that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release with shall continue to be enforceable.
