4 Recruit a wk-ready apprentice How we can suppt your business Recruiting an apprentice is an opptunity to discover fresh new talent, with 96% of employers repting benefits to their business including increased productivity and output. We are highly experienced in preparing young people f the wkplace and by partnering with us to recruit your apprentice, we can take away the headache and cost associated with the recruitment process to find the right young person f your business. Our learners are prepared f wk through extensive pre-apprenticeship programmes focusing on maths and English functional skills, health and safety and employability skills such as timekeeping, attitude and teamwk. With experience in a variety of construction trades office experience, we ensure that learners are wk-ready pri to starting an apprenticeship to ensure a smooth fit with your business meaning they can start making a difference from day one. Routes to finding an apprentice Recruit a wk-ready apprentice from one of our training centres Source your own apprentice from friends and family and we will st the rest Advertise your vacancy with us and if required we will undertake interviews to ensure you have the right apprentice to help your business grow Suppt a young person with wk experience and provide skills and opptunities f them to experience the wld of wk Did you know... Befe you take on an apprentice we arrange a free four to six week wk trial where we pay the apprentices wages and travel costs. 4 Visit f me infmation

5 What suppt is available? As a training provider contracted by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), your apprentices wk based training programme will be fully part funded. F year old apprentices, 100% of course fees are funded, meaning as an employer you only need to suppt an apprentice s wage. F year olds, up to 50% of course fees are funded. What is my financial commitment? All employed apprentices must be paid to the appropriate Apprentice National Minimum Wage (currently 3.30 as of 1st October 2015) which applies to all 16 to 18 year olds and those aged 19+ in their first year of their apprenticeship. Apprentices must undertake a minimum of 30 hours employment per week Apprentices must receive 20 days paid holiday excluding bank holidays An Apprenticeship Agreement must be in place pri to start date Apprenticeship duration from 12 We can help to advertise your vacancy provide wk-ready young people selected to fit with your company. With a free four week wk trial, we make sure that we find the right apprentice f your business Recruit an apprentice and you could receive up to 2000 towards their wages The National Apprenticeship Service will provide Apprenticeship AGE grants to eligible employers recruiting 16 to 24 year olds with a value of 1,500 per apprentice. Subject to eligibility criteria and approval. The Realise Foundation suppts PM Training apprentices through lifelong learning and grants up to 500. Subject to eligibility criteria and approval. 5

In that time Listers has taken on 35 apprentices, of whom 23 are now permanent staff. Case Study Commercial training From our partnerships with local businesses our netwk of specialist training providers offers choice, service and solutions to meet the demands of the modern wkplace. Cpate training and management consultancy Health and safety courses, osteopathy and occupational health services Leading and management courses Asbestos removal services and asbestos training Consultancy, audit and training in British and International standards ILM accredited and non-accredited management training 10% of selected course fees are Gift Aided to our group charity, the Realise Foundation to provide apprenticeship opptunities within the local area. CSCS Cards CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is the leading competence card scheme f individuals wking in construction, ensuring they can demonstrate an agreed level of occupational competence. Our test centre can provide advice, suppt and competitive pricing f a variety of cards and tests. Bespoke training Our bespoke training and development offers sht courses and in-house training programmes, developed to meet the needs of your business and provide improved productivity and efficiencies f your wkfce. PM Training has trained over 100 of Listers staff over the past decade, including providing suppt to train an in-house assess and training the entire commercial team to level 3 NVQ. We use PM Training because our way of wking fits with what they do, says Alan Howley, Production Manager. PM Training wants to encourage and promote the younger generation and they offer a professional approach in finding the right apprentice f the right job. From our point of view we also want to encourage a new generation into wk, but we also want to build our wkfce f the long term. We have many examples of apprentices who have joined us from PM Training, and they ve gone on to achieve their qualifications and become an essential part of the Listers team. 7

With over 40 teams and vehicles, this unique service helps over 5,000 customers throughout Staffdshire each year creating opptunities f young people to learn trade skills on the job with qualified superviss and team leaders. Artwks provides street art and sculptures f public regeneration projects across the city, delivered by apprentices who are gaining valuable development, skills and experience. The Kidsgrove-based family company was established in 1987 and giving something back has always been at the heart of what they do. They partnered with PM Training three years ago and since then, three young people from PM Training have been taken on by the company. Lench apprentices get the opptunity to learn about all aspects of house and industrial building projects operating across the Midlands.
