1 HaCon Ingenieurgesellschaft mbh Lister Straße Hannover HaCon Ingenieurgesellschaft mbh Addressed to See Invitation List Lister Straße Hannover Deutschland Telefon Fax Internet Date 20/01/2014 INVITATION Round table meeting on the Development of intermodal transport in Bulgaria Dear Madame or Sir, whereas intermodal transport in Europe has been growing steadily in the past years, in Bulgaria this mode of transport is still not established in current logistics chains: There are still limited intermodal transhipment facilities existing in Bulgaria; Only a few railway operators are providing intermodal transport services within or from/to Bulgaria; Regular intermodal shuttle trains run only in transit between Western Europe and Turkey/Greece; The Bulgarian transport market is dominated by road transport. Time to resign? Or time to bundle forces and lay foundations for a future growth path of intermodal transport in Bulgaria? These and other items should be discussed with relevant actors of the intermodal sector in Bulgaria. You are therefore kindly invited to discuss the status quo, recent initiatives and future prospects of intermodal transport in Bulgaria, achieve a consent about the growth perspectives and coordinate regulative, financial and operational measures that will be necessary to foster the increase of intermodal rail services, identify relevant actors and time horizons for the realisation of the intermodal strategy and summarise a road map on intermodal transport in Bulgaria.
