What are the main constraints faced in acquiring requested information? Expected result: Catalogue of content information / features that should be offered in a web information portal. Who are the stakeholders (potential users)? Infra users: Railway operators, Shippers (industry), Forwarders, Intermodal operators, Wagon providers Infra providers: Infrastructure managers, Intermodal terminal operators, Railport operators, Owners/operators of private sidings How are these needs identified? 10 Identification of user needs Main conclusions regarding information of particular interest What access points are available (locations)? What kinds of services are provided at a particular point? Who is serving the point (contact person)? What is the service time (windows)? What are the core technical parameters and equipment? Main conclusions for portal design: Selection of different facility types on the first application level (= portal entry for the user); Immediate display of facility operators contact data; 74% of discussed information items are evaluated as important by workshop participants needs to be reflected by portal contents Display of information items with high requirements on confidentiality and frequent updates (e.g. schedules, tariffs) possibly by linking to respective websites; Study MOVE B2/ Last-Mile GIS Final Presentation Brussels 05/07/

15 Tasks performed towards a permanent portal A management structure, presenting the parties involved in permanent portal operation and defining their roles/tasks as well as their contractual connections; Requirement/qualification profiles for selecting suitable companies for the main levels of the management concept; (Non-exclusive) pre-selection of organisations and other bodies to take over permanent portal operation; Specification of tasks to be performed within a transfer period and during permanent operation and deriving respective costs; Scenarios for revenue gathering; Roadmap for implementation steps towards permanent portal operation.
