3 SINAMICS S120 product family The flexible, modular drive system for demanding applications Position in the product family The new Firmware Version V4.8 is released for general delivery for SINAMICS S120. The SINAMICS S120 drive system is the modular system for high-performance applications. It offers AC/AC single-motor drives and coordinated DC/AC drives for multi-axis applications, making it the perfect basis for modular system and machine concepts. Page 3

9 Support of new hardware Power Module PM240-2 FSD-F The PM240-2 power modules are now fully supported with SINAMICS S120 Firmware Version 4.8. The new frame sizes D-F cover a large power range (up to 132 kw) and provide many benefits: Optimized fan design Less fan and heat sink contamination; less noise Long motor cables Without output choke shielded: FSD/E 200 m, FSF 300 m unshielded: FSD/E 300 m, FSF 450 m Extended operating range Increased environmental conditions Operating temperature -10 to 60 C (with derating) Optimized design, corrosive gas resistant components and paint finish in the power module Usage in extreme environments possible with SIPLUS Control Unit (-20 C, 3C3) Voltage versions Consistent range in 200V, 400V, V Space savings in the control cabinet Compact structure (more output per frame size), side-by-side mounting and push through for the corner types No need for line reactor Robust structure thanks to DC-link reactor (suitable for operation on stable line systems) Page 9
