2 1 Description and key features 1.1 Description PakFormance is an integration platform that enhances our total systems approach and uses information to provide value to our customers. The PakFormance offering is a unique combination of IS hardware, IS software, and equipment that delivers a network for data exchange. The offering has the ability to link Sealed Air s systems to each other and to third party equipment (scales, printers, labelers etc.). PakFormance is modular, flexible, scalable, configurable, supportable, and focused on packaging. Through this new solution, Sealed Air brings to market new functionalities that allow visualization of the packaging process, automatic in-line weighing, automatic in-line label printing, batch management, tracing through the packaging line, and permanent monitoring for process improvement, etc. Being a modular implementation, the level of features and functionalities will be driven by the line configuration and IS software implemented. Sealed Air s PakFormance delivers continuous visibility over packaging rooms, enables process flow automation, traceability, increases efficiency and significantly reduces operating costs. PakFormance provides the ability to measure, control, and improve both processes and costs. The Sealed Air PakFormance Queue Conveyor Modules (QCM) have been designed to allow for the conveying and tracking of naked, packed or bag loaded products. They can be used as stand-alone conveyors or in conjunction with PakFormance. Construction is modular and the conveyor frames are designed to be equipped with 1 to 4 conveyors. Various conveyor lengths are available and must be selected according to the product sizes and application. Note that when used in front of a dynamic weigh scale, an additional length of conveyor is necessary to allow for the acceleration and synchronization of the product speed with the weigh scale speed. Each conveyor comprises a drum motor controlled through a frequency inverter, an Intralox belt, and a set of product detection sensors. The electrical components controlling the conveyor(s) are installed in an electrical cabinet located on the conveyor frame, or alternatively in another electrical cabinet of the line. Construction is simple, robust and fully washdown. All critical parts are treated against the corrosive environment often found in food production and packaging rooms. Designed with ergonomics, safety and hygiene in mind it is easy to use and clean, simple to maintain and meets all relevant European legislation for safety and hygiene. 1.2 Key features Single naked, packed or bag loaded product transport conveyor, allowing tracing when used in conjunction with PakFormance 1 to 4 conveyors on one frame Multiple conveyor lengths available to suit to various products and applications Intralox belt with variable speed up to 1 m/sec, belt removable without tool Washdown design, allowing easy and effective cleaning Good access for maintenance Robust, high quality build standard using food approved materials 2
