1 67 FEFPEB CONGRESS TH 21 OCTOBER 2016, BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) Wooden pallets and packaging in the circular economy
2 WELCOME BACK IN BRUSSELS Dear friends and colleagues, After the highly successful full-scale congress last year in Cork (Ireland) FEFPEB returns to Brussels for the 67th FEFPEB congress. A small-scale event, the congress is sold-out with 100 delegates, which underlines that our congress is regarded as very important for the European wooden pallet and packaging industry. The theme of this congress is Wooden Pallets and Packaging in the circular economy and the choice of Brussels as a venue is obvious. The Circular Economy Package will certainly have its impact on our industry and we have a great story to tell: wood is eternally renewable and the life cycle of wooden packaging does fit perfectly into the circular approach. We are looking forward to the presentations from the representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament. A vision on Brexit and the impact on the SME industry by a seasoned lobbyist should be very thought provoking. We have assembled a very interesting agenda, with three sections: Circular Economy, EU Lobby and innovation / technical developments. In advance our appreciation to all speakers. Although the congress is limited in time, the Pallet and Packaging Forum offers an excellent opportunity for networking. Without the support of our sponsors such a complete congress like this would be impossible to realise, thanks so much to them. Finally, I do wish you a very rewarding and enjoyable congress and I look forward to meeting you all in Brussels. Rob van Hoesel President

Mr. Pellegrini has a Master s Degree in European Legal Studies obtained at the College of Europe, Bruges, and a postgraduate diploma in EC Law obtained at L.U.I.S.S. Guido Carli, University of Rome. Jan Huitema (1984) is a member of the European Parliament (VVD/ALDE) and a dairy farmer in the Netherlands. After completing a BSc in Animal Sciences and a MSc in Animal Production Systems at Wageningen University he started his career at the Dutch organisation for agriculture and horticulture (LTO) in Brussels. He then became adviser to Dutch MEP Jan Mulder, member of the Agriculture Committee, and later the German MEP Holger Kramer, member of the Environment Committee. After a successful campaign Huitema was elected in European Parliament on preferential votes. He is a full member of the Agriculture Committee and a substitute member of the Environment Committee.
