5 3 Troubleshooting Guide CONDITION CHECKPOINT METHOD OF INSPECTION CAUSE / REMEDY Motor fails to rotate (no noise is heard at all) Power supply cord Check power supply cord continuity. 6 4 Disassembly and Assembly Instructions Important notice: Before replacing any components, make sure to turn OFF the vacuum cleaner. Remove the power plug from the outlet Dust box cover assembly removal 1. Open the dust box cover assembly at an angle of approx. 45. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver between the upper body and the dust box cover assembly and move it in the direction of the arrow mark to remove the dust box cover assembly from its right side Separate the upper and lower body units 1. Remove the five screws fixing the upper body U and lower body U. 2. Remove the screw fixing the upper body U from the rear side. 6

7 3. Lift the upper body U to separate it from the lower body U. 2. Figure 7 illustrates the main body with the control knob U and switch cover U removed Printed Circuit Board A Unit (P.C.B A Unit) removal 1. Remove the Control knob U and switch cover U. 3. Remove the P.C.B. AU from the P.C.B holder and disconnect the fast-on terminal on the lead wire connected to the P.C.B. A Unit Caution: Disconnect the fast-on terminal straight so that lateral forces are not applied to the terminal fitted to the P.C.B. AUnit. 7

8 4.4. Motor removal 1. Remove the dust box lid assembly. (Refer to paragraph 4.1 on P.6) 2. Remove the upper body from the lower body. (Refer to paragraph 4.2 on P.6) 3. Remove the P.C.B A Unit. (Refer to paragraph 4.3 on P.7) 4. Remove the two screws fixing the P.C.B holder and pull it out from the lower body. 6. Remove all components fitted to the motor. a. Remove the motor support rubber (front). b. Remove the motor support rubber (rear). c. Remove the motor support. d. Remove the noise suppressor U. e. Remove all lead wires. 5. Lift the motor set section from the lower body U. 8

9 4.5. Cord reel partition unit replacement 1. Increase the gap width between the cord reel and the lower body with a screwdriver. While removing the cord reel shaft from the side of the lower body, lift the cord reel partition unit Rail base U replacement 1. Remove the screw fixing the rail base U onto the cord reel partition U. 2. Remove the rail base U from the cord reel partition U Spring-loaded cord reel prewinding 1. The cord reel partition U has a spring that pre-winds the cord reel. If the cord is not wound, then press the brake arm, and the cord pre-winding will be loosened. If you wish to apply pre-winding again, then wind the cord three turns in the direction of the arrow mark. * If you wish to release the pre-winding, then make sure to hold the cord plug. * For easy removal, pull out the cord slightly, and then lift the cord reel. 9

10 4.8. How to disassemble the turbine nozzle Agitator ass'y 1. Rotate the Lock on the brush cover to unlock and remove the brush cover U. 2. Pull up the agitator ass y and remove the belt and agitator ass y (complete). (Fig.16) Turbine Ass y 1. Pull up the floor nozzle wand U and remove the turbine ass y. (Fig.18) Separation of the floor nozzle upper U from the floor nozzle lower U 1. Remove the four screws fixing the floor nozzle lower U. (Fig.17) Removal of the floor nozzle brush CU.DU.EU.FU 1. Turn the floor nozzle lower unit over. Insert the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver into the ditch in the brush installation part, then remove the brush.(fig.19) 2. Remove the floor nozzle lower U. 10
