2 ., ) SCHEME OF TESTNG AND NSPECTON FOR CERTFCATON OF VAULT (STRONG ROOr-1) DOORS ACCORDNG TO S 11188(PART 1):1991 (ncorporating Amendment No.1 to 3) DOC:ST/11188/1 June 99 1 LABORATORY 7 A laboratory shall be maintained which shall be suitably equipped and staffed, where different tests given in the specification shall be carried out in accordance 'with the methods given in the specification. 1.1 All testing ~pparatus shall be periodically checked and calibrated and records of such checks/calibration shall be' maintained. 2.0 TEST RECORDS - All records of tests and _inspection shall be kept in suitable forms approved by the Bure'au. 2.1 Copies of any records and other connected papers that may be required by the Bureau shall be made available-at any time on request. 3.0 QUALTY CONTROL - t is recommended that, as far as possible~ Statistical Quality Control (SQ.) methods may be used for controlling the quality of the product during production as envisaged in this Scheme [See S 397 {Part 1):1972, S 397 (Part 2):1985 and S 397 (Part 3):1980]. 3.1 n addition. effort should be made to gradually introduce a Quality Management System in accordance with the Quality System modules as per s/so 9001 or S/SO 9002 or S/SO as appropriate to the activities of the organization. 4.0 STANDARD MARK: The Standard Mark as given in Column 1 of the First Schedule of the licence-shall be appl ied on the name plate of each Vault (Strong Room) Door. provided that each door on which this mark is applied conforms to every reqirements of the specification. 5.0 ~~RKNG - n addition. the following information shall be furnished on the metalic name plate affixed to each Vault (Strong Room) Door. a) The manufacturers name and its a~;. b) r) Classpnd classification code; ~- Year of manufacture,-; -:-:' d) Serial Nlliuber;~ e) Licence No. (CM/L No.). -,.J.. recognized trade mark if..

3 ) DOC:ST/11188/1 June MARKNG ON KEYS - The keys supplied with Vault (Strong Room) Door shall be marked with an i~entification number di~ferent from serial number of. the Door LEVEL':: OF.CONTROL - The tests and inspectionindicatedin Table 1 attached apd at the levels of control specified therein. shall be carried out on the whole production which is covered by this scheme and appropriate records and charts maintained in accordance with paragraph 2 above. All the production which conforms to the ndian Standard and covered Qy the licence shall be marked with the Certification Mark of the Bureau. 6.1 The manufacturer shall provide full details for installation of door to the purchaser as per clause 13 ~f S (pt 1): n respect of all other clauses of the specification and at all stages of manufacture. the factory shall maintain appropriate c(mtrc.ls and checl:s to ensure that the product conforms to the voxious requirements of the specification. 8.0 RAW r.111.terj.ls - The different parts of Vault (Strong Room) Dc.orsshall be manufactured from materials specifiedin Table 2 of S (Part 1):1991.Manufacturer shall ensure the confolulity to relevant standards and appropriate records shall be maintained SA~E1:g~ - The licensee sha 11 supp y. free of charge, the samples required in accordance \~ith the Bureau of ndian Standards (Certification) Regulations as subsequently a::nended.from the factory or godowns. The Bureau shall pay for the samples taken by it from the open market.,., ' R:gPLf:::;;:Ef.1EN - Vlheneve.r a complaint is received soon after the goods with Standard Mark have been purchased and used. and if. there is adequate evidence that the goods have not been misused, defective goods are replaced free of cost by the licensee in case the complaint is proved te,be genuine and the V'iarrantyperiod (-;'7here applicable) has not expired. The final authority to judge the conformity of the product to the ndian standard shall be with the Bureau n the event of any damages caused by the goods bearing the Standr-ird1.1ark.or claim being filed by the <;onsumers against BS Stando.rd r.~a.rk and not conforming te, the relevanl ndian Sta.ndard, entire liability arising out of such non conforming product shall be of the licensee and BS shall not in any way be responsible in such cases. :2 -

The marking may be resumed as soon as the defects are removed under intimation to Bureau. The marking of the product shall be stopped iu~ediately if directed to do so by Bureau for any reason. The marking may then be resumed only after permission by the Bureau.
