4 Strategy Concurrent Engineering An efficient process to enable a fast new product introduction The Transfer new products from R&D To Production process (TTP) should close the gap between the R&D characteristics (fast functionality deliveries) and the Production requirements (a well defined and a stable process), in order to establish an efficient; cost and time oriented controlled process. TTP of a new product dictates communication between deferent factors in the organization as well as sub contractors. Usually (on regular base) they do not communicate frequently (due to professionalism, geographic 4 location, etc.).

5 Strategy Concurrent Engineering Establishing a formal and transparent information flow. Establishing a real cooperation and synchronization of all the participate factors. Late design changes (after the first design) are flowed with time delays and extra costs. In order to prevent changes and add-ons during the last R&D stages, the PRS (Production Requirement Specifications) should contain all the technological; logistical; service; and production aspects. Therefore clear communication between the engineering; production; purchasing; QA and marketing is essential. 5
