2 Story Water is essential for living. For being healthy and fresh people need to drink certain amount of water each day. Today fitness and wellbeing is one of the largest areas where IoT is applied. Sensors count steps, floors, pulse, but water consumption is not covered enough in most applications you need to enter water amount manually. The idea of this prototype is to use IoT and Connected Goods so that smart water supplies (dispensers, pumps, cups, kettles) could automatically track the amount of water you drink, could notify you if your daily goal is not met, share the information with your favorite fitness application. Multi-user devices such as office dispensers or home kettles can recognize you with your fingerprint and there s no need to change your usual user experience when you make your morning tea - just make sure your thumb is touching the scanner. Or not touching - if you make a tea for your child ;) 2

3 Persona ANNA The Sporty Girl I spend my free time doing sports, reaching distant places, taking challenges. I track my activities to be sure that what I m doing is good for my health and my body. About 22 y.o., not yet married, working in marketing agency I like active sports: biking, skiing, hiking, snowboarding, jogging, TRX I use social networking for finding friends and mates for my hobbies; to compete in taken steps; walked miles; climbed floors. I track my activities, food, nutrition and water to be in a good shape and see my body needs, health and transformations. Main Goals I want to know the amount of water I drink to be sure my body and skin are hydrated enough. I want to have statistics of my water consumption to be able to share it with my nutritionist. I don t want to spend time to open the mobile application and enter the data manually, especially when I m on the go. Needs I need to log my water consumption. Now I do it manually in the mobile app. I drink water from different supplies but need total amount calculated and tracked. I want to get a reminder to make another sip to reach my daily goal. I need automatic logging when I m on the go and my hand are not free to use the phone. Pain Points I cannot log water consumption on the go, and often forget to do it afterwards. I don t always know the volume of a bottle, a cup or a glass and the total daily amount may be not accurate. I don t want to take my phone and use the mobile app every time when I drink. 3

4 Points of View As Anna I need a way to automatically log my water consumption so that I would not need to interrupt my sport activity but get a precise result stored. As Anna I want to track water that I drink from different sources and have a cumulative result for the day so that I understand if I get the needed amount of water and my body is hydrated well. As Anna I want to schedule a reminder for the hours when I didn t drink enough liquids. 4
