1 SAP Fiori UX Design and Build Challenge The Story John Dow is a typical warehouse worker of medium size wholesaler of office materials. He is rather well fit through years of moving around the warehouse as well as picking and shifting boxes. He enjoys his job because he cannot imagine sitting all day long behind the desk. What he hates is struggling with various documents and papers. Every morning he receives number of picking lists and with each of them starts the journey through the labyrinth of halls and aisles to collect listed goods for the shipments. Although in years he mastered finding the right routes, ever increasing assortment and raising number of deliveries makes it harder and harder to meet shrinking times for packing a given order. And on top of everything, it almost drives him mad to sort out all the wrinkled and mixed papers and keying in the daily data back to the computer by the end of his shift. His company uses computer system to maintain business documents and installed recently an advanced module to group packing papers in optimized way to minimize routes through the warehouse and help picking goods for similar orders along. Finally, the IT department is designing mobile application to replace the papers and provide all that information right at John s hand, so the list of goods to pick in single course leads him through the warehouse. And the picked stuff is checked in directly into computer system by simple strokes of thumb so no additional paper work is necessary by the end of the day. How do they feel each step of the journey? What actions and activities does the Persona take while going thru the journey to achieve their goal? What touch points does the Persona have? (Tools, channels, devices, conversations, and so on.) Need to pick merchandise fast Could have collected this stuff along the previous order Need to keep these papers in order Don t remember what merchandise belongs to which order Where are these papers again?! It s already 4 p.m. and data is not entered into the system! Again no time to key in the data I ll be late at home again.
