This is a Re-Advertisement of Request for Information (RFI) No. D F1 If you have already responded to RFI No. D F1, is not necessary to respond to this request unless you intend to provide additional information. This is a Request for Information (RFI) - this is not a request for competitive pricing or a process for the County to purchase. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information. No award will be made based on the results of this process. Any procurement by the County will be the subject of a separate process and subject to budget approval. Providers are requested to submit the following questionnaire. (It is important that responses be submitted by date and time listed above.) Three copies (1 original & 2 copies) of all hardcopy materials are required as well as two CD/DVD-ROM of all RFI information. CD s with product demonstrations, digital marketing brochures, and technical documentation are encouraged, but not required to be submitted. Commodity or Service Required Broward County is planning to build a new 675,000 sq ft Courthouse with approximately 75 courtrooms/hearing rooms. The Main Courthouse complex also includes 24 criminal courtrooms in the North Wing. It is our desire to include state of the art technology, with system users such as attorneys and the public paying the County on an as use basis. We are also interested in pursuing the possibility of revenue sharing and/or partnering opportunities.

2 Page 2 of 5 This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to identify Vendors who specialize in the following: A. Develop Revenue Collection Programs AND/OR B. Provide the latest in courtroom technology to courthouses throughout the country. It is also the County s intention to identify Vendors who specialize in the following: C. All types of state of the art technology available now and in the future for all courthouse services. D. Install, maintain, and update equipment and technology (including software updates) as necessary. Requester Enterprise Technology Services Division, Judith Fink 540 S.E. Third Avenue Fort Lauderdale, Florida Respondents should address, but not be limited to, the following components: Sound system in courtroom (bi-amp) Courtroom media (projector, screen, LCD panels Courtrooms that have screens at bench, counsel tables and Jury box to support visual evidence) ADA requirements for visually and hearing impaired Digital court reporting system (compatible with CourtSmart DCR system) Remote simultaneous court interpreter system Electronic court dockets outside courtrooms/hearing rooms Electronic signage/directory in lobby (multi-language) Wi-Fi in courthouse (scope of signal, issues re: jury access to Internet) Electronically diverse courtroom wells and video conferencing capability in all courtrooms/hearing rooms/deposition rooms Document printers/fax/scanners in all courtrooms/hearing rooms/deposition rooms (or in separate work areas accessible by public) Media center (accessible by public)

3 Page 3 of 5 Remote video feeds Video feeds to the news media The presentation lectern and witness stand in a courtroom/hearing room should incorporate in its video presentation component a touch screen with annotation capability that allows counsel and witnesses to make annotations on exhibits and videos being displayed. This should also function as an electronic white board. The presentation lectern should incorporate a document camera capable of transmitting/displaying/zooming paper document images, transparencies/x-rays and 3-D objects to monitors throughout the courtroom. An evidence presentation station at the lectern should provide VGA and audio connection for counsel s laptops A master kill switch for all evidence presentation media should be located for the presiding judge to manage/control evidence presented to the juror Secure electronic signature technology for court orders (this is mostly an application solution and may not be pertinent) Appropriate system redundancy in critical electronic courtroom processes (including storage capacities, security, cost, document retention policies consistent with Chapter and/or Florida Supreme Court guidelines) Capacity/bandwidth needed to support ECF system with access throughout courthouse including public media area QUESTIONNAIRE Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the technology services described. Solution providers are asked to answer the following questions as completely and succinctly as possible, in the following order, in an attachment with responses, referencing the complete question or question number. Please also indicate what option you are responding to (A,B,C or D) or all options. REFERENCES 30) Approximately how many Courthouses have you successfully implemented state of the art courtroom and courthouse information technology? Identify them and provide a primary Courthouse contact knowledgeable of your services. 31) For how many Courts have you provided similar services? Identify them and provide a primary Courthouse contact knowledgeable of your services. 32) Provide five (5) customer references. Provide contact information including customer name, contact telephone and address (if available). Include customers most similar to Broward County who have already implemented your proposed recommendations. The County may contact these references to confirm cost and capability issues. COMMENTS Provide a brief (no more than 1 page) statement describing the advantages to Broward County should it select to use your Services. Please provide any other abilities or features not mentioned in previous questions. Also, make note of any proprietary features of your system. Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the commodities or contractual services described. Selection by the County of Courtroom and Courthouse Information Technology shall be facilitated through a process separate from this.
