1 Sherpa is a technology company that allows users to log on-demand deliveries via a web and/or mobile platform. As one of our drivers, we are trusting you to deliver an exceptional Sherpa experience for our users; from pickup, right through to delivery. We have three delivery types: 2-Hour 4-Hour Same Day Deliveries can be sent individually or grouped with others in a Run. It is up to you to choose the deliveries you want and manage them within your Sherpa Driver app. You can accept multiple jobs at the same time, as long as you are confident you will get them all delivered in time! You get paid per delivery. Delivery prices are calculated based on distance, size and delivery type. The average price per delivery is $10-$15. Payment is made into your bank or PayPal account every Wednesday (for deliveries done between Monday - Sunday of the previous week). SHERPA \\ WELCOME TO THE SHERPA TRIBE 1

3 Before Accepting a Delivery... Pre-Delivery Checklist Before you accept any job, make sure you follow this checklist: You are confident you can get the item delivered before the due time 4 1 You know what type of delivery it is 2 You know what type of item it is 3 You are equipped to transport the item 5 You are ready to hit the road straight away! 4 When You Arrive at the Pickup Location... Pickup Checklist When you arrive at the pickup, make sure you follow this checklist: Hi there! I m John, your Sherpa driver ID #1234 Deliver To Pam in Glebe There are 2 items for this delivery Are you definitely at the right address? Politely introduce yourself as the Sherpa Driver Inform the client which delivery you are here to pick up Check the number of items you have to pick up When You Arrive at the Delivery Location... Delivery Checklist When you arrive at the delivery, make sure you follow this checklist: Johnathon Smith What would you like me to do? 5 Your Pocket Pal Sherpa Driver App Finding Jobs Once you ve logged in as a Sherpa tap Open to see all available deliveries in your area. If you have finished working for the day and want to turn off all alerts, tap the to put the app into sleep mode. When you re ready to go again, tap anywhere on the screen to become active. Delivery pins are colour coded: 2-Hour 4-Hour Same Day Run Accepting Jobs Everything you need to know about a delivery will be displayed here. Before accepting the job, make sure you will be able to complete it by the due time and that the item is suitable for your vehicle. Suggested Route The suggested route screen shows the fastest & most efficient order to complete your pickups and drop offs. When you arrive at the destination, ensure you have the right item, are at the correct address and have read any additional instructions, then if you like, use the quick swipe action to mark as Picked Up or Delivered. 6 Your Pocket Pal Sherpa Driver App Picking Up Jobs Once you accept a delivery, all delivery details will appear on this screen. To use your navigation system, tap on the this will direct you to the pickup & delivery locations when necessary. Once the item has been picked up, ensure you tap the Set as Picked Up button. If you have an issue during the delivery, tap either Help or Call to get assistance. Delivering Jobs When delivering the item you will need to provide a proof of delivery getting a signature, name and description from the recipient is the preferable option. If no one is at the delivery location, you should tap No one is at the delivery location, if you have been given permission to leave the item/s unattended, you will be re-directed to take a photo of the item/s only if there is a safe place to leave it. If you don t feel it is safe to leave or you do not have permission to leave unattended, you will be prompted to call Sherpa Support to organise a return or re-delivery. NOTE: It is never okay to leave alcohol unattended! SHERPA \\ WELCOME TO THE SHERPA TRIBE 6

7 A Bit of Legal Stuff: Alcohol & Cigarette Delivery Compliance IMPORTANT: Must Read! Cigarettes It is illegal to sell or provide tobacco products to a person under the age of 18. The maximum penalty for selling tobacco to minors is $110,000. Alcohol As per your contractor agreement, you are required to adhere to the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) laws in a delivery context. Although you as a driver are not required to hold an RSA, Sherpa Pty Ltd is bound by these rules and must ensure that you are trained to adhere to RSA laws. RSA adherence in the context of delivery requires that you: 1. DO NOT deliver alcohol to anyone under the age of Recognise signs of intoxication and DO NOT provide anyone with alcohol if intoxication is established. Fines exceeding $29,000 can apply if you are found providing alcohol to a minor or an intoxicated person. HOW TO DELIVER ALCOHOL & CIGARETTES 1. If the individual answering the door at the delivery address looks under 25 years of age, always ask for ID. If the person is over 18, you must get a signature and their name. 2. If the individual is under 18, DO NOT under any circumstances leave the alcohol/cigarettes. You must return it to the shop. You will be paid for the return delivery. 3. If the person who ordered the alcohol/cigarettes is not the person who answered the door but they claim that it s for someone else; ask to see the person who ordered the alcohol/cigarettes. If that person is not there, ask the individual at the door to show ID, as well as anyone else at the address. Failure to provide ID or being underage requires you to take the items back to the store. 4. Alcohol delivery only: If you arrive and the person is noticeably intoxicated or if you suspect intoxication, then you must in no circumstances leave the alcohol. Politely refuse to leave the alcohol and say that you are required by law to return the alcohol to the store. Here are some signs that will help you discern whether or not a person is intoxicated: SPEECH BALANCE CO-ORDINATION BEHAVIOUR Slurring Swaying Fumbling change Rude Incoherent Cannot stand Difficulty opening door Aggressive Rambling or loss of train of thought Unsteady on feet Difficulty handling money Argumentative SHERPA \\ WELCOME TO THE SHERPA TRIBE 7

8 A Bit of Legal Stuff (Continued): Alcohol & Cigarette Delivery Compliance IMPORTANT: Must Read! HOW DO I REFUSE SERVICE? We must refuse service to any person: Who looks under 18 and cannot provide ID Whom we suspect is accepting liquor for a minor Who appears to be intoxicated or disorderly Advise the customer that you cannot serve them: Always -- I m sorry, due to licensing regulations, I m not able to serve you If you believe a customer is intoxicated or being disorderly refuse service firmly in a calm manner Customers who are unduly intoxicated must not be served Provide great customer service it s the best way to meet our RSA obligations. There are 6 acceptable forms of ID: Australian Driver s License Current or Probationary Team members must check the date of birth on this form of identification. NSW/QLD Overseas issued/international equivalent acceptable. Current Australian Learner Permit Issued by a Roads and Traffic Authority. Team members must check the date of birth on this form of identification. Commonwealth Keypass Card Issued in VIC and QLD, however they can be used as identification in all states except WA. Current Proof of Age Card Issued by an Australian State or Territory Government. NSW/WA Governments don t issue Proof of Age Cards; however interstate Proof of Age cards are acceptable in NSW and WA. Photo Card Issued by NSW and WA State Governments, they can only be used as ID in NSW and WA. They can be issued to people 16 years and over. Team members must carefully check the date of birth on this identification. Passport Current passport issued by the Australian Government or current passport issued under the law of another country. 9 REMEMBER #1 A Few Tips & Tricks for Handling Fragile Items If a client asks you to return an item to the store, you will get paid for a return delivery Alcohol HOW FRAGILE ITEMS REQUIRED At some of our partners pickup locations you may be required to sign an RSA book to show that you understand the rules regarding delivering alcohol. (Yes, this may be every time you pickup alcohol from certain partners) HOW TO CARRY HOW TO TRANSPORT Place bottles in a box or cooler bag and be careful not to shake. Secure items somewhere they won t tip over. IMPORTANT INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO ALCOHOL DELIVERIES It is ILLEGAL to: 1. Leave alcohol unattended if no one is home 2. Provide alcohol to a minor 3. Provide alcohol to an intoxicated person Contact Sherpa straight away if any of these situations arise, and we ll organise a return delivery back to the store. 10 A Few Tips & Tricks for Handling Fragile Items REMEMBER #2 If an item gets damaged due to negligence you will not be paid for the delivery Flowers HOW FRAGILE ITEMS REQUIRED GOOD TO HAVE HOW TO CARRY HOW TO TRANSPORT Do not under any circumstance leave flowers unattended in the sun, as they will likely die. If there is no shaded area to leave, call Keep bouquets upright and place in a box or Keep boxed items flat. 11 A Bit of Legal Stuff: Food Handling & Safety Compliance When delivering any food items you must ensure the following actions are taken to adhere to Food Handling and Safety Compliance. HANDLING AND PROTECTION FROM CONTAMINATION 1. Ensure all food is packed well and unopened never open packed food 2. Never in any circumstances touch open food 3. No coughing or sneezing over food packages TEMPERATURE CONTROL 1. Chilled food and hot food must always be kept in those conditions 2. Always carry food in insulated thermal bag to maintain temperature control 3. Limit transport time as much as possible WHAT TO DO 1. Deliver hot or cold food as fast as possible 2. Use common sense 3. Ensure you carry an insulated thermal bag (you can buy one from Sherpa) 4. Keep your hands clean at all times 5. During the pick up, make sure the order is well packed 6.
