3 Taking the guess work out of your electricity bill Making sense of your electricity bill can sometimes be difficult but at Bord Gáis Energy we want to make things easier for you. We ve put together a short, simple explanation of the 6 most important points on your electricity bill. 3 1 The main abbreviations used for readings are A an actual reading carried out by ESB Networks, C a reading submitted by the customer and E an estimate by ESB networks. 2 The MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number) is unique to your current premises and identifies your meter connection point. If your meter is changed the MPRN number remains the same The DG code is an industry code representing your distribution use of system group. 4 The MCC code is an industry code representing your load profile classification. 6 5 This charge is a fixed amount per day and is for the fixed costs associated with providing your electricity supply. 6 We supply electricity from a number of sources. The table on the reverse of your bill outlines the latest figures available for the fuels used to generate the electricity we supply. Prices and dates are for illustrative purposes only

6 6 Cut down on paper and cut down on hassle with paperless billing Switching to paperless billing reduces the amount of paper you receive and the paper we use, making it easier for you to manage your bill and reducing the impact your bill has on the environment. How does paperless billing work? Switching to paperless billing is a very simple process. Once you register for Online Account Management and select paperless billing you will no longer receive your bill in the post. Instead, you will receive an notification letting you know when your bill is available to be viewed online. Your online bill is an exact copy of the one you would normally receive in the post and you can print if required. Reducing the amount of paper you receive through the post is good for you and good for the environment, making paperless billing something you can feel better about. Setting up paperless billing, a simple process: Register for Online Account Management at bordgaisenergy.ie once registered, select paperless billing in the Make Me Paperless section. It really is as simple as that; with a few clicks of your mouse you will be set up for paperless billing and doing your bit for the environment.

8 Meet Marco, Master of Disguise... 8 Marco is a grizzly bear with a soft touch. Much more than a pet, he s Patrick s real-life friend. Trouble is Patrick has a big job on his hands to prevent his friend Marco from being sent back to the zoo! Marco, Master of Disguise is a hilarious tale of genuine friendship between a boy and a bear, by Irish children s author Gerry Boland. Bord Gáis Energy Book Club were lucky enough to be granted an audience with Marco the Bear to find out all about what it s like to be a bear in a boys world! Hi Marco, your best friend Patrick seems like a lot of fun? What is your favourite past time with Patrick? We like drinking cups of tea, does that count as a pastime? And we like watching TV, especially stuff about animals. Apart from that we just enjoy each other s company. We might do a jigsaw together and we mightn t say a word to each other for an hour, we d be concentrating so hard. I suppose that s a sign of a really good friendship, when you can spend time with someone and not feel you have to be talking all the time. I guess we just suit each other.
