4 AEROSPACE ALUMINUM PLATE The foundation of our Aerospace plate expertise resides in Koblenz, Germany, where Aerospace plate production started more than 30 years ago. Seizing the opportunity of projected growth in demand in Asia Pacific, we built our Zhenjiang facility in This investment also enables us to minimize supply risks due to the redundancy of both Aleris sites. Since then, our dimensional and specification capabilities were continuously extended. As an example Aleris is operating one of the world s most powerful hot rolling mills in both sites, in Koblenz and Zhenjiang. IMPROVED BUY-TO-FLY RATIO VIA CUT-TO-SIZE SHAPES AND CLOSED LOOP Shape cutting and pre-machining can be offered to optimize cost efficiency and to minimize metal yield at the customer site. Closed loop recycling concepts are available upon request. WING PLATES Based on our capability to produce wide and long plates and our deep processing know-how Aleris offers high strength upper wing and high damage tolerant lower wing alloys in plates of various sizes and gauges for integral and built-up wing solutions. As a complementary service, wing plates can be supplied in shaped, surface machined or even tapered format.
