2 To ensure your Trntorque GT unit performs s speifie, e sure to follow these instrutions preisely. TO PREVENT PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE TRANTORQUE UNIT, SHAFT AN/OR MOUNTE COMPONENT: Instll the prout s reeive. o not pply lurints. If supplie lurite, o not lter. The shft n mounte omponent ore must e re metl (lurint free). o not use impt of ny kin to move the Trntorque GT ssemly long the shft. 1. The shft imeter must e within ± 0.003" (± 0.08mm) of the Trntorque ore, n the mounte omponent ore must e within ± 0.003" (± 0.08mm) of the Trntorque outsie imeter, (Fig.1). See for n vlues. 2. Aitionlly, oth the shft n mounte omponent ore must:. hve surfe finish of miro-inh ( miro-meter) RMS. If the surfe finish is outsie of the speifie rnge, it n e roughene using longituinl rsion with str file, emery pper or similr to ring surfe finish to within speifie rnge.. e ompletely free of pint, grese, oil n eris of ny kin. Return the surfes to re metl n len using non-petroleum se solvent (isopropyl lohol). 3. Insert the Trntorque GT unit into the mounte omponent mking sure the mting hu is flush ginst the hex flts. (). 4. Ple the mounte omponent/trntorque GT ssemly onto the shft. Position it to the esire lotion mking sure the shft fully engges the Trntorque GT s shft gripping re (, lighter re) efine y the steppe ore. Wrning: THE SHAFT MUST FULLY ENGAGE THE GRIPPING AREA OF THE TRANTORQUE GT (). 5. Firmly hn tighten the nut (lokwise). Then, using torque wrenh, tighten the nut to the speifie instlltion torque, M (Tle 1). Note: At full instlltion torque, the ssemly will trvel pproximtely 0.075" (1.9mm) xilly long the shft s shown in. If xil position is ritil to your pplition, it my e neessry to loosen the nut n reposition the ssemly to ompenste for this movement. Wrning: OVER-TIGHTENING THE NUT COUL RESULT IN AMAGE TO THE TRANTORQUE GT UNIT AN/OR THE MOUNTE COMPONENT. Where the length of the mounte omponent is 75% of the gripping re or less, it is mntory tht the mounte omponent e positione in the gripping re. 4. Ple the mounte omponent/trntorque Mini ssemly onto the shft. Position it to the esire lotion mking sure the shft fully engges the Trntorque Mini s shft gripping re (, lighter re) efine y the steppe ore. Wrning: THE SHAFT MUST FULLY ENGAGE THE GRIPPING AREA OF THE TRANTORQUE MINI (). 5. Firmly hn tighten the nut (lokwise). Then, using torque wrenh, tighten the nut to the speifie instlltion torque, M (Tle 1). Note: At full instlltion torque, the ssemly will trvel pproximtely 0.045" (1.1mm) xilly long the shft s shown in. If xil position is ritil to your pplition, it my e neessry to loosen the nut n reposition the ssemly to ompenste for this movement. Long Hus (where the length of the mounte omponent exees the hu gripping re) It is reommene tht the mounte omponent: First, overs the hu gripping re; Seon, extens eyon the srie line; Thir, ny remining length extens eyon the til of the Trntorque OE. 4. Ple the mounte omponent/trntorque OE ssemly onto the shft. Position it to the esire lotion mking sure the shft fully engges the Trntorque OE s shft gripping re () efine y the steppe ore. Wrning: THE SHAFT MUST FULLY ENGAGE THE SHAFT GRIPPING AREA OF THE TRANTORQUE OE (). 5. Firmly hn tighten the nut (lokwise). Then, using torque wrenh, tighten the nut to the speifie instlltion torque, M (Tle 1). Srie Line Note: At full instlltion torque, the ssemly will trvel pproximtely 0.075" (0.19mm) xilly long the shft s shown in. If xil position is ritil to your pplition, it my e neessry to loosen the nut n reposition the ssemly. Ple ssemly onto the shft n position to esire lotion mking sure the shft fully engges the Trntorque Miro s shft gripping re, or "L" imension. 6. Firmly hn tighten the jm nut (Fig 3 highlighte lue). Then, using torque wrenh, tighten the nut to no more thn the speifie instlltion torque, M, s speifie on pkge lel. 7. If neee, use the Miro s smll hex (Fig 3 highlighte in lue) on top of the jm nut for ounter torque while instlling the unit. Wrning: USE A TORQUE WRENCH.
