Business Principles
Business Principles, core values, strategy what s the difference? The Business Principles are an elaboration of our core values and strategic themes. Combined with our purpose, mission, core values and strategic themes, the Business Principles form the framework for our behaviour. See the circle in Appendix 1.
The Business Principles
1. I aim to provide my client with the best solutions I know my client and have a relationship with my client. Clients are satisfied only when they see that the bank brings them success. I develop and provide transparent products and services that are suited to our customers. To that end, I make a difference by always going the extra mile. I make a point of gaining a deeper understanding of my client, thereby laying the foundation for a long-term relationship. I offer solutions that help my client and make sure my client and I understand each other. I say no if it s in my client s best interest. Transparency to me means I communicate openly, clearly and comprehensibly.
2. I take responsibility I take responsibility for myself and give others the chance to take responsibility for themselves. I am committed to ensuring that the bank is healthy and solid, taking into account the desired result. I am confident and take the initiative to get the results I want. I work according to the best process and communicate that with others. I stick to my agreements and am disciplined in my actions. I build trust and live up to my promises, and I am always aware of costs and explore ways of working more efficiently.
3. I am committed to sustainable business practices I perform my tasks conscientiously and discreetly, based on insight and an overall understanding of my work. I take decisions only if I understand, and can account for, the consequences. The balance between taking risks and achieving results is thus in safe hands with me. I strive to thoroughly understand risks, and I bring to light the risks associated with our services, and especially our credits, and discuss these together with others. I am conscientious when it comes to all information pertaining to clients and the bank. I act with integrity and encourage honest conduct in my environment. I comply with legislation and regulations, guidelines, rules, internal policies and codes, and have no connection whatsoever with bribery or corruption. I call attention to wrongdoing and misconduct.
4. I am committed to sustainable business practices I respect others. I believe that everybody makes their own, unique contribution and adds colour, depth and valuable ideas. I work to establish permanent, transparent, sustainable relationships with colleagues, clients and business partners. In the business transactions I conduct, I am focused on people, society and the environment. That is also my motivating principle when engaging with business partners and other relevant parties. I feel a strong responsibility to society (stewardship) and actively contribute to a better living environment, always acting in accordance with human rights.
5. I am a passionate professional I am passionate about the work I do and ensure that I am good at it. That means I want to know and be able to do more tomorrow than today. With that motivation, my professional and expert ability continues to grow. I make active use of the feedback I get from colleagues and clients and give feedback too. Professionalism thrives best in an open and transparent culture, to which I actively contribute. I shape my own personal development and use the opportunities for development which the bank offers me. I use my knowledge, skills and conduct to achieve results.
6. I build relationships through collaboration Collaboration produces the best results. I work together well with other teams and departments in the bank. I show interest in and appreciate my colleagues achievements and commitment. I m happy with my colleagues successes and I let others shine. I actively help out my colleagues and share my knowledge and experience. Together we achieve goals, and together we find solutions to questions or problems. I inspire others by setting an example in terms of collaboration.
