The European Compost Network and Cré have previously organised three international conferences in Ireland (Compost Europe delegates, AD Europe delegates and AD Europe delegates). 95% of delegates from the last event said they would return to Ireland but would prefer a conference with a wider remit. So rising from the ashes of AD Europe, is born! will take place on 3 4 May 2016 in Dublin, Ireland. It will bring together stakeholders to discuss the latest commercial and technical developments, challenges and future circular bioeconomy opportunities in the biological treatment of organic resources and the sustainable use of its products. The successful outcome of COP21 in Paris in December 2015 underlined the urgency for an accelerated global shift towards a lowcarbon economy. This event will show how our sector can help achieve these goals has something for everyone - whether you are a technology provider, planner, local authority, AD/compost operator, consultant, waste management company, a farmer looking to diversify, financier, policy maker or someone with a general interest in anaerobic digestion, composting and the biobased economy. Exhibitors will include consultants who can provide advice on planning and building an AD or compost plant; technology suppliers covering pumps, digesters, and monitoring equipment; and support agencies who can provide advice on digestate/compost use. A list of exhibitors can be found on the conference website. NETWORKING A key element of the event is to provide ample opportunities for networking. With this is mind, the conference, trade show, banquet dinner and hotel accommodation are all in one building. This makes networking very comfortable over the two days. BANQUET DINNER On the evening of the 3rd May, a drinks reception will be held in the exhibition hall followed by a delicious banquet dinner. After dinner there will be some traditional Irish Dancing. TOURIST DAY IN DUBLIN 2nd May will provide an optional bus tour on Monday 2nd for delegates interested in visiting some of Dublin s most popular tourist destinations such as the Guinness Storehouse, Teeling Whiskey Distillery, National History Museum and the Jeannie Johnston Ship. Jeanie Johnston- Irish Emigrant Ship The tour includes a viewing stop at the Jeanie Johnston, a replica famine ship that sailed between Tralee in Co. Kerry and North America between 1847 and National Museum of Ireland The museum displays artefacts dating from 7000BC to the 20th century. The Irish archaeological collection includes The Treasury, featuring outstanding examples of Celtic and Medieval art such as the famous Ardagh Chalice, the Tara Brooch and the Der-rynaflan Hoard. Collections in the museum includes prehistoric Ireland, medieval Ireland and Viking age Ireland. Guinness Storehouse The Guinness Storehouse is a seven storey visitor experience dedicated to the history and making of the world famous beer. It is Ireland s number one visitor attraction and is located in Dublin city centre. Teeling Whiskey Distillery Teelings is the only operational whiskey distillery in Dublin City. The tour includes viewing the working distillery and ends with whiskey tasting. COMPOST SITE VISIT Wednesday 4th May, 15.00h 19.00h, Bord Na Mona, Kildare Limited spaces available, booking is essential The Bord Na Mona site is a composting and automated bagging facility for peat based products. The facility is licensed to accept 100,000 tonnes per annum; however at the moment it is only processing approximately 50,000 tonnes. A range of materials are composted on the 4.2 ha site, including garden waste and brewery grains. The compost produced is used to replace peat in a range of peat based products which are mixed and packaged on the adjoining automated bagging facility.

6 CONFERENCE VENUE The Venue for the conference is the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport. The hotel is located 2 km from Dublin Airport, just off the M50 allowing easy access for delegates from Northern Ireland and from around the country. Crowne Plaza Dublin-Northwood is located in 85 acres of the mature woodlands of Northwood Park, Santry, Dublin 9. TRAVEL FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT The hotel operates a free bus to and from Dublin Airport. The bus operates every 20 minutes between 5am and 12 midnight. Transfer time is 7 minutes or up to 10 minutes during rush hour. The bus stop is located in Zone 14 in the Coach Park.
