Are there drivers for other things? How do I know what s there? How do I redeploy software? Browser compatibility? Application install packaging? How do I migrate data easily? What data do I exclude?
5 A False Sense of Security? I plan to migrate to Windows 7 and Office 2010 at the same time, so I am not in a hurry. It s not just about Win 7 and Office. The bigger problem may be your ISV applications. Inventory and assess them now. Eliminate those that don t need to be upgraded. Migrating from Office 2003 to 2010 is a snap It is not simply about Office applications. Most organizations have many applications which are integrated into Office functions. Find and test them. I can just squeeze in the migration tasks along with my regular work Migration is a new, big task. Just adding it to your work-load will lead to shortcuts and errors. Automate your workload as much as possible.
