5 SECTION INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids will be received from qualified Contractors for the reroofing services of: Amalie Arena Sixth Floor East Roof 401 Channelside Drive Tampa, Florida, Faxed proposals will be received until 2:00 PM, March 3, 2016, Attention: Mr. Steve Butler at Fax (813) Original proposals (three copies) are to be received in the office of Amalie Arena no later than March 4, Amalie Arena 401 Channelside Drive Tampa, Florida, Attn: Mr. Steve Butler Bids shall be submitted fully complete with all required proposal documents, including: completed bid forms and completed contractor s qualification statement. The Owner is under no obligation whatsoever to accept the lowest Bid or any other Bid submitted, and the Owner in its sole discretion may accept a Bid other than the lowest Bid for any reason whatsoever that shall seem satisfactory to the Owner. Moreover, the Owner reserves the unbridled right in the Owner s sole discretion to reject any and all Bids for any reason whatsoever that shall seem satisfactory to the Owner. A mandatory pre-bid meeting shall be held at the site on February 25, 2016 at 1:30PM. Parking is available in the North Employee Parking Lot located at Channelside Drive and S. Caesar Street. We will meet at Gate D at the east side of the arena. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory to submit a bid. Bid documents on disk will be handed out at the meeting. 10 February 18, 2016 GUIDE SPECIFICATION AMALIE ARENA SIXTH FLOOR EAST REROOFING TAMPA, FLORIDA REA Project No Project Information This outline is not intended to be all-inclusive, but to serve as a guide specification for the anticipated work. All work shall be performed in general accordance with the roofing material manufacturer s requirements and the Florida Building Code. In general, this project will include the following scope of services: 1. Remove the existing sheet metal coping system on the east and south walls. Clean off existing sealants and store for reuse. Remove the metal siding on the west and north walls as necessary to remove the existing flashings. Reinstall temporarily to keep building watertight. Existing electrical will be removed and reinstalled by inhouse electricians. 2. Remove the existing PVC single-ply roof membrane and flashings, including all membrane fasteners. 3. At new roof drain location (where existing steel deck is corroded), install new 14 gauge 29 x33 recessed sump pan (Marlyn Steel), secured at each roof deck top flange with ¼-14x3/4 Blazer Drill screws (DP3). Install two new A36 3x3x1/4 steel angles (prime coated) below sump pan, spanning from bar joist to bar joist. Secure to bottom side of bar joists with two ¼-20 x 1-1/2 Blazer Drill Screws (DP5) per attachment. 4. Install new JOSAM four inch no-hub roof drain with cast iron dome and underdeck clamp. Connect roof drain to adjacent storm drain pipe (to the west) with cast iron piping. Install pipe hanger supports at four feet on center to bar joists. Plumbing work shall be performed by licensed plumbing sub-contractor. New and existing roof drain bowls, clamping rings and strainers shall be cleaned, primed and painted. Primer shall be Sherwin Williams Corothane I Pre-Prime. Top coat shall be Sherwin Williams Corothane I HS. Color shall match Sherwin Williams Sw6965 Hyper Blue. 5. Install new Bilco S50 roof hatch with aluminum hardware and Ladder Up Safety Post (LU-1). Roof hatch cover shall open in the long dimension (facing east) special order item. 1

11 Amalie Arena 6 th Floor Roof February 18, Guide Specification 6. Remove and replace any wet tapered polyisocyanurate insulation with new tapered polyisocyanurate insulation. Remove and replace any wet ½-inch DensGlass with new ½-inch DensGlass Sheathing. 7. Install new tapered (1/2 inch per foot) polyisocyanurate insulation to the new roof drain, providing a minimum 4 ft. by 4 ft. sump and positive drainage leading to the sump area. Install new crickets (sloped ½ inch per foot) at the high side of all roof curbs. 8. Over the entire roof area, over the polyisocyanurate insulation, install ½-inch DensDeck or Securock board, 4 ft. by 4 ft. in size. Joints shall be staggered. 9. Install new Sika Sarnafil Rhino Bond System with 80 mil S327 roof membrane. Roof system shall be installed in accordance with System SC-43 from Florida Product Approval No. FL9274-R7. PVC Rhino Bond plates and Sarnafastener-XP screws shall be installed at the rate of four per board (4 ft. by 4 ft. board size) in the field of the roof (Zone 1), eight per board in the four feet wide perimeters (Zone 2) and 12 per board in the southeast corner (Zone 3). 10. At the overflow scupper at the south side of the roof, install new clad metal lined scupper. 11. At all roof curbs, fans and roof hatch, install Sarnatred V over the new roof membrane. 12. Reinstall coping system and wall panels that were removed in order to install the new roof system. 13. Alternate One Provide and install a Bluewater Manufacturing Safety Rail 2000 Rooftop Fall Protection Guardrail System at the east and south perimeters (and required turn back railings from the perimeters). Guardrail system shall have a galvanized finish. Sarnatred-V walkway pads shall be installed at each base. 14. Alternate Two At the underside of the roof deck, at any exposed structural steel, steel angles and steel decking, install fireproofing to match existing fireproofing system. Subcontractor shall be a licensed fireproofing contractor. Warranty Requirements Roof Repairs Materials and Workmanship Contractor s Warranty for all work: Two Years from Date of Substantial Completion Manufacturer s NDL Warranty Twenty Years from Date of Substantial Completion 2
