1 Armenia Camp Construction Update Photos April 18, 2016 Spring has arrived in Armenia. The snow is melting quickly and the conditions for construction are becoming more favorable each day. The pace is picking up and the transformation is underway. Our primary focus for construction continues with the dorm project. To date the structure for the dorm expansions has been completed. This includes an enclosed stairwell, areas for lounges and a new roof for each of the two dorm buildings. As of last week 28 workers were present on site working in many of the rooms installing electrical wiring, heating equipment and piping, windows, interior plaster and plumbing. The exterior of the dorm building is also being updated with new plaster and stone veneer. Balconies are being installed on the second floor along with several structural improvements that became evident when we began to expose the structural components of the building. Other projects that will begin in mid-may are the Managers House, Maintenance Shop, and improvement of site utilities and infrastructure. The contractor selection process has commenced for this portion of work with a decision to be made in early May. Construction permits have been acquired for the Managers House and Maintenance Shop. We will also demolish a condemned building that is to be the future site of a building which will house the café, store, game room, infirmary and camp office. 2 April 1, 2016 The west dorm is shown above with the expansion structure in place on the left side of the picture. Concrete forming for the entry stairs is shown as well with wood forms being installed. April 2, 2016 Pictured on the left is the start of the entry stairs mentioned above. Shown on the right is the beginning of the lounges and stairs to the second level.

3 April 1, 2016 Electrical wiring is currently being installed for all the light fixtures shown on the ceiling above. On the first floor shown on the left, plaster is being applied to the walls as the stone is covered along with the wiring. Pictured on the right is the second floor with plaster still to be applied with wiring in place. April 1, 2016 Commercial grade aluminum windows began to be installed the first week of April. The windows are a German product assembled in Armenia. On the right you can see the second floor lounge windows being installed. Tatos, our Armenia Project Manager for Young Life, is discussing installation details with the windows installer. Plaster and tile will be applied to complete the interior wall and floor finishes, along with railings and light fixtures to follow.

4 April 2, 2016 Currently dorm room floors are being leveled. Following the leveling of the floors radiant heat piping will be laid and an additional slab will be constructed and finished with tile. Pictured on the right, the bedroom walls have started to be plastered. Multiple coats of plaster are applied to cover stone walls and electrical wiring. April 2, 2016 Plumbing between floors and into bathrooms is being installed for the future toilets, sinks, and showers.

5 April 1, 2016 Currently, we are focusing our efforts on the west dorm pictured above on the left for completion this summer. Major structural work is near completion on the east dorm on the right as well, with new roofs and structural framing completed for both east and west dorms. The scaffolding shown above is in place to renovate the exterior stucco finish on the rear side of the building. The yellow stucco shown on the east dorm is the original finish to be updated with plaster in the future. April 1, 2016 Partially completed east dorm with newly finished roof, structural improvements and expansion. As we prepare for dorm interior construction to be completed we have selected many finish materials that will soon be applied. Also the bunk beds, storage cubbies and linens are set to arrive in the next couple weeks. The shipping containers have arrived in the Port of Poti, Georgia and are being transported by truck to Yerevan for inspection this week. Once inspection is complete the containers will be transported by truck to the camp. Many thanks go out to the staff and friends of Washington Family Ranch and Frontier Ranch who shared their time, treasure and talent to make this dream a reality.

6 February 24, 2016 Two sea containers were loaded on trucks at Washington Family Ranch bound for Armenia. One of the highlights of this past month was the addition of a flagpole and the raising of an Armenian flag on the property. For a brief time on April 1, 2016 the contractors gathered. Several thoughts and words were shared regarding the future of the camp property. Arman Asatryan, the Young Life Armenian National Director, spoke about events that will take place at camp and how the mission of Young Life will be fulfilled with guests, leaders, and campers. Chris Marshall, the Young Life Project Manager, also spoke about how these craftsmen are a part of creating a place that will minister to future generations of Armenian youth. Also those on site were encouraged with the knowledge that many around the world are holding hands with them to see this project through to completion. Upon completion of raising the flag and the moment together, Arman made the comment That really looks like an Armenian camp. We pray that it will be so for centuries to come.
