3 Project Overview Objective: Private and public stakeholders jointly implement strategies for efficient, and environmental and climate-friendly industrial development. Duration: 3 years from June 2015 to May Budget: 5 mn EUR+1.5 mn EUR for augmenting the activities for controlling industrial pollution to River Ganga. Partners: MoEFCC, GoI and GIZ are the main project partners. (Implementation Agreement signed on 16th June 2016). CPCB a technical arm of MoEFCC, playing an important role. 13 Activity Progress so far German experts engaged (Rodeco) to start work for problem analysis and conceptual solutions for CETP/ETP/ZLD, Conveyance Systems. Tender published by GIZ for engaging international experts for services related to Environment Improvement in industries. Data Collection /surveys /studies conducted: Rapid pollution assessment study completed by IIT Roorkee Economic assessment study on CETP completed by IDEC, Bangalore GIS based mapping for IIE Haridwar initiated through students from IIT Kharagpur Questionnaires have been designed to collect information related to wastewater discharge profiling from industries/etps and CETP. 15 An international expert from DWA has conducted a 3 days Train the Trainer (ToT) to train the experts/trainers of affiliated partners of SCGJ/NSDC. The Qualification Packages for technicians and helpers of wastewater treatment plants have been brought up by the SCGJ/ NSDC. 6-day skills development course conducted during August 29 to September 3, 2016 at Vapi- 4 operators/helpers from IIE Haridwar trained Skills competition conducted on September 30, 2016 at IFAT Mumbai 21/11/2016 Page 15
