1 Lien Nguyen is going on maternity leave soon. We are seeking applicants for the Fixed Term role of Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator, based at Rowland Flat. The primary responsibilities include the following:- Evaluate and review OHS systems and advising Management of requirements for change as necessary; Monitor internal and external OHS system audits to ensure continuous improvement; Maintain the Company s Workers Compensation Self Insured performance standards in relation to prevention. This involves periodical auditing ensuring necessary corrective actions are implemented; Maintain the Company s AS/NZS4801 and ISO18001 certification. This involves periodical auditing ensuring necessary corrective actions are implemented; initiate prompt responses to all safety issues raised; Develop and maintain a hazard identification/assessment and control procedure; Disseminate safety related information throughout the Company with posters, newsletters and bulletins; Evaluate and monitor changes to Legislation and how it applies to the Company advising Management of statutory requirements; and Ensure employees awareness of safety requirements and issues. The successful candidate will have:- Qualifications: Essential: An understanding of the Performance Standard for Self Insurers in South Australia; and Tertiary qualification and auditor accreditation in OHS. Desirable: Demonstrated experience in OHS and technical ability to understand wine industry requirements with minimal on the job training; At least five years OHS experience in the wine industry and/or beverage or a fast moving consumer goods industry background; Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision; and The ability to communicate and build relationship with stakeholders at all level. 2 POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Occupational Health & Safety Co-ordinator BUSINESS UNIT OR SUPPORT FUNCTION: 6100 DEPARTMENT: QSE REPORTING TO: LOCATION: Rowland Flat DATE OF VERSION: 13 August 2010 Position Summary The purpose of this position is to review, implement and monitor the Occupational Health Safety strategies and system for the Orlando Wines operations. To also ensure practices are in line with the Performance Standards and Measures as outline by WorkCover SA to be a Self Insured Employer in South Australia as well meet all certification requirements for AS/NZS 4801 for Australia and OHSAS internationally. The Occupational Health and Safety Co-ordinator is accountable to monitor and introduce best practise to meet all aspects of OHS to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory authorities. The Occupational Health & Safety Co-ordinator is essentially a resource an internal consultant. The role is to create awareness, building an effective Occupational Health & Safety infrastructure and promote a culture where OHS is part of the operation of management. As a change maker the person must freely give access to their knowledge and experience, encourage and support the acquisition of skills and knowledge by Line Managers. They will acknowledge the role of Employee Health & Safety Representatives and use and develop their skills without demanding that they become pseudo Safety Officers. Position Dimensions / Roles Reporting to Position / Decision Making Authority

3 Direct reports: n/a Key Responsibilities Compliance: Comply with the relevant Legislation and Company policies, procedures and standards on Health and Safety at work, environment, quality and Food Safety (HACCP) Ensuring the occupational health, safety and welfare of all individuals working in their area of operation via:- the provision of a safe workplace; observing safety policy; identifying, assessing and controlling hazard in the workplace; implementing procedures that have been developed to ensure health and safety; These responsibilities are best achieved through the facilitation of employee consultation and participation. Ensure minimal impact on Health and Safety, environment, quality and Food Safety (HACCP) through identification of risks, suitable/appropriate controls, adherence to these controls, monitoring of results and continually improving the controls Create a culture whereby employees and self abide by the Company s Equal Opportunity / Harassment policies, and the principles contained within the legislation, and to act in a manner which will create and maintain a workplace that supports diversity and is free from discrimination, harassment, bullying and hostility Identify training needs for Health and Safety at work, environment, quality and Food Safety (HACCP) and ensure that they are met Monitor external service providers to ensure compliance with all relevant Company policy and Procedures. OHS Systems: Evaluate and review OHS systems and advise Management of requirements for change as necessary. Monitor internal and external OHS system audits to develop action plans to address areas of non conformance and ensure continuous improvement. Maintain the Company s Self Insurance Performance Standards in relation to preventions. This involves periodical auditing ensuring necessary corrective actions are implemented. Maintain the Company s AS/NZS4801 and ISO18001 certification. This involves periodical auditing ensuring necessary corrective actions are implemented. Risk Management Incident Investigation and Documentation: Initiate and assist in incident investigations. Coordinate and maintain incident investigation documentation. Monitor and follow up on corrective actions for future prevention of re-occurrences. Maintain an injury record system in accordance with the relevant Australian Standard. Liaise with the relevant State authority. Establish objectives and plans for a reduction in the frequency and duration of incidents.

4 Initiate prompt responses to all safety issues raised. Maintain documentation such as work injury, WorkSafe SA documentation, licences, and medicals. Hazard Identification/Assessment/Control: Develop and maintain a hazard identification/assessment and control procedure Monitor the procedure for compliance and provide advise as required Monitor workplace audits and report areas of potential risk or loss to the company and its subsidiaries. Report to Management on a monthly basis areas of non conformance. Assist in removing risks and hazards from employees work environment. Safety Process/Procedure Evaluation: Monitor effectiveness of existing safety procedures and make recommendations to Management and Safety Committee Members for improvements. Monitor and report to Management and Safety Committee Members any areas of safety breaches offering solutions to the problems identified. Prepare, implement and maintain the Company s OHSW&IM Plan in consultation with all stakeholders. Disseminate safety related information throughout the Company and its subsidiaries with posters, newsletters and bulletins. Liaise with Management in regard to the employment medicals and functional capacity assessments. Compliance to Legislation: Evaluate and monitor changes to Legislation and how it applies to the Company and its subsidiaries and advise Management of requirements. Maintain documentary evidence of Company compliances. Liaise with WorkCover Prevention Department on Self Insurance Status and performance. Liaise with Self Insurers of South Australia, Safety Institute Australia, Business SA and other OHSW&IM organisations. Occupational Health & Safety Advice Purchase and Design: Advise and update Management on all matters relating to employee safety, health and welfare, including purchase and design of equipment. Conduct safety inspections, audits, health surveillance, training, writing company standards and consulting with all levels of Management advising them of their obligations and needs in their areas. Liaise with both Purchasing and Engineering Management to ensure regulations in relation to the purchase and design of equipment are complied with. Training & Awareness: In conjunction with Training & Development coordinate safety related training programs In conjunction with Training & Development conduct a training needs analysis so as to formulate the training plan, budget and schedule for the calendar year.

5 Plan, set up, coordinate, arrange and at times conduct training specific to your expertise. Keep Safety Committee Members up to date on legislative requirements, ensuring they monitor and review the Occupational Health Safety Welfare & Injury Management program, action plan and the training plan to incorporate changes. Ensure employees awareness of safety requirements and issues. Be an example for the Quality Improvement Process in everyday work. Ensure the Company s OHSW&IM Policy is understood by employees. Facilitate good relations between Management and employees in relation to OHSW&IM. Induct Contractors ensuring that Company policies and procedures are adhered to. General: Network with other Occupational Health & Safety professionals, particularly in the wine industry, so as to obtain valuable data in the Quality Improvement Process. Attend Department Meetings bringing safety related topics to the attention of Management and supervisory personnel. Supervise the administration of first aid and casualty care and the regular training of these providers. Manage Occupational Health & Safety library. Skills / Qualifications / Experience: Qualifications: Essential: Tertiary qualification and Auditor accreditation in OHS. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in either engineering, hazard management, or registered nursing qualification.
